‘Law and Order’ takes over age-old LeBron James vs Michael Jordan GOAT debate
LeBron James vs Michael Jordan GOAT debate rages on as the Los Angeles Lakers superstar continues to play elite basketball.
The LeBron James vs Michael Jordan GOAT debate will continue until the Los Angeles Lakers superstar retires
In the world of basketball, the most talked about conversation is the LeBron James vs Michael Jordan GOAT debate. A major section of fans reserve that nomenclature for the Chicago Bulls great. However, long-time analyst Colin Cowherd has observed the Los Angeles Lakers superstar for the past few years.
In that time, first LeBron James again turned his franchise into a championship contending team. Then, he continued to break records and finally became the all-time leading scorer in NBA history. Now, a month away from turning 40-years-old, he is still continuing to play at a high level.
It is a level high enough that has seen James turn out three consecutive triple doubles to help the team to three straight wins. His performances have been such that he takes over a game any time his head coach needs him to. The performance even left one of his famed haters, Skip Bayless in awe.
The Akron native continuing to display such high levels of basketball and staying conditioned even though he has been taking the grind for twenty-two straight years is remarkable. Colin Cowherd used that longevity analogy to say this while on his The Herd podcast.
"Michael Jordan was more like Seinfeld — 9 great years, highly impactful and still discussed today. LeBron's become Law & Order. We're on year 35. I watched an episode two days ago, it still crushes."

Cowherd claimed that even though Michael Jordan played fifteen seasons, except his nine great years, the others were not elite. But LeBron James has produced twenty-two seasons of elite basketball. The only factor that separates fans in the GOAT debate are the titles and individual trophies but there too Cowherd made a point.
LeBron James vs Michael Jordan should not be decided on titles
Most basketball fans who consider the Chicago Bulls great to be the GOAT point out the fact that he won six titles in six NBA Finals. James in comparison has only four but has played in ten Finals to date. However, Colin Cowherd has a different perspective on this argument.
The analyst points to the fact that in those ten Finals, LeBron James faced the Golden State Warriors as well the San Antonio Spurs dynasties. He lost to them five times and only won twice. Moreover, the four titles the Los Angeles Lakers superstar has won were with three different teams.
Moreover, there is also this argument that the Chicago Bulls never took off until Phil Jackson became the head coach. On the flip side, others claim that James needed a superteam to win his first title. The debate have many sides and it will likely never stop.
