As much as Lawrence Taylor’s presence has been glamorous on the football field, he seems to have an infamous reputation off-field with many encounters with criminal charges. The former NFL great player has been arrested once again in Florida after not complying with the imposed conditions as a registered s*x offender.

TMZ Sports reported this morning that Taylor surrendered himself after an outstanding felony warrant was issued in his name on Wednesday. He has been put behind bars for failing to report about his new residence via Broward County jail officials.

After spending several hours in jail, the former New York Giants superstar was released the next day on Thursday at noon. This arrest took place a few years after his previous arrest in December 2021, when he was arrested for a similar offense. However, Taylor’s attorney claimed this recent arrest was a “misunderstanding.”

My client, Lawrence Taylor, will be pleading 'Not Guilty' to the recent charges. As with the previous incident involving the same allegations, Mr. Taylor did not knowingly commit any criminal offense. This situation is a significant misunderstanding
Mark Eiglarsh (Lawrence Taylor’s attorney) said

The Greatest Defensive Player of All Time has been a declared s*x offender since 2011 after he was accused of r*ping a 16-year-old girl and because of that, he has to abide by certain conditions.

Lawrence Taylor charged with statutory r*pe of 16-year-old

Back in 2010, the Pro Football Hall of Famer was arrested on the charges of r*pe of a 16-year-old girl, who was forced into prostitution by a s*x trafficker, who had beaten her up. He reportedly paid $300 to the girl in exchange for intercourse in the Holiday Inn and was later charged with third-degree r*pe and patronizing prostitution charges.

His attorney at that time, Arthur Aidala, put forward an image of a “loving family man” and dismissed the allegation of him having s*x with a minor.

Taylor was said to be quite cooperative with the police investigation, as Ramapo Chief of Police Peter Brower claimed. He was later released after executing a bail bond of $75,000.
