The San Antonio Spurs traveled to Colorado on Friday night to play the Denver Nuggets. 2024 Rookie of the Year, Victor Wembanyama attempted a shot during the game but was founded by the Nuggets star, Russell Westbrook. Notably, it was the interaction after the foul that caught the attention of the NBA community.
Westbrook fouled Wembanyama on Friday night while he was attempting a fast-break layup against the Denver Nuggets. After making the shot, the center for the San Antonio Spurs went on to scold the veteran All-NBA guard. Their conversation was leaked most recently on social media platform X by LegendZ.
In the video making rounds on the internet, Victor Wembanyama told Russell Westbrook, “You should’ve just went for the ball because you’re not gonna hit me in the head.” To which Westbrook replied, “What?” Wemby again responded, “Just watch the head.”

Westbrook, who had Wemby in his grill, looked back at him with a frown that bordered on disgust. In addition to making the subsequent free throw, Wembanyama ended up having the final laugh as the Spurs defeated the Nuggets 113-110.
