- LeBron James executed a stunning two-handed tomahawk dunk over Jabari Smith Jr. during a game against the Houston Rockets.
- The 41-year-old NBA star is managing his energy for the postseason while still showcasing his athleticism.
- Fans reacted enthusiastically on social media, praising James for defying age with his impressive dunking ability.
Over the years, fans have become accustomed to LeBron James‘ outrageous dunks. But as he ages, the sheer volume of those dunks has reduced.
After all, the 41-year-old has to manage his energy, both in-game and in his post-game rest. Too many dunks will sap whatever he has faster than anything else he does on the court.
The all-time leading scorer has not made any secret of his desire to conserve his body for the postseason, and he has willingly accepted a lesser role just to position himself for the playoffs.
But that does not mean that the father of three does not go for it, especially when he has a chance to do so. Against the Houston Rockets on the road, he found himself in such a position.
Early in the first quarter, with both teams tied, Austin Reaves gathered a rebound, dribbled up the court, and launched a cross-court pass to a streaking LeBron James.
However, as the oldest player in the league slowed down for a second, Jabari Smith Jr. caught up with James and tried to stop him from getting an easy dunk off.

But the Rockets forward made one mistake. He went up with the intention of trying to block the Lakers superstar’s attempt with one hand. James, with all of his 250lb of thrust, went on the attack with both his hands. Naturally, the result of it was that Smith Jr. ended up getting posterized.
Fans lose it after LeBron James posterizes Jabari Smith Jr.
Basketball fans are accustomed to seeing LeBron James posterize opponents. Most of his highlights are against ‘White’ big men, which often leads him to give them a nice stare down.
But this time, fans were in stitches watching the Lakers veteran do the same to Jabari Smith Jr. Yes, the same player who once informed James that the latter played against his father.
Fans felt that the instances of the four-time league MVP’s athleticism are a clear indication that his legacy is never going to be diminished. Check out examples of these reactions below:

LeBron James has seemingly taken a back seat as his Lakers teammates adjust to his subdued and clearly defined role. But that is just to ensure he has the energy to go on the attack, just as he did in this instance.
LeBron James’ new role leads Lakers to third-straight win
When LeBron James sat out with an elbow injury, the Los Angeles Lakers won three straight games. After those impressive performances, many claimed that the team was better off without its oldest superstar.

Then, the 22-time All-Star came back, and the team continued to win, with their overtime effort against the Denver Nuggets leading to some changing their stance both about the team’s chances in the postseason, and James’ willingness to help.
But those wins were at home, and those skeptics wondered how they would fare on the road. The team went on the road to start their six-game road trip, with the first two at Toyota Center in Houston, Texas.
Playing against Kevin Durant’s Rockets, James again stuck to his role occupying the dunker’s spot, capitalizing in transition, and playing the free safety role on defense.
That worked, as the Lakers triumphed over the Rockets with an impressive 100-92 score. James ended up with just 18 points, but it seems staying below 20 helps the team.
