LeBron James’ 2020 Lakers were more dominant than Steph Curry’s 2018 Warriors, claims Jason Timpf

2020 Lakers or 2018 Warriors? Jason Timph has a shocking answer

The 2018 Golden State Warriors are considered among the best NBA teams in history. They were dominant in both offense and defense. The Warriors already had the best shooter in Stephen Curry, the best two-way guard in Klay Thompson, and a defensive player of the year in Draymond Green. Then they even added Kevin Durant, arguably the best player in the league.

Recently, NBA expert Jason Timpf made a very bold statement about the dominant 2018 Warriors. Timpf stated that the 2020 Los Angeles Lakers are more dominant than the 2018 Warriors. Many NBA fans thought the take was really bizarre as the Warriors are one of the more complete teams than the 2020 Lakers. He even stated the Lakers were the best championship-winning team in the last six years.

I've got the best players in that series; the Lakers match up extremely well. I just think that the 2020 Lakers team is the best basketball team that I've seen since the 2018 Warriors with Kevin Durant and Steph Curry.

Timpf felt that the Lakers overcame the COVID circumferences, which had shortened their season, and the postseason was held in the infamous NBA bubble. They had a great team with LeBron James and Anthony Davis as the main stars. They even had a great and deep supporting cast like Alex Caruso, JR Smith, and Dwight Howard.

Timpf concluded his take by saying how the 2020 Lakers have more versatility and star power, which makes them a better team than the 2018 Warriors. While no one can conclude which team will be better, fans could expect a tough matchup if they are paired together.

Nikola Jokic admits that the 2020 Los Angeles Lakers led by LeBron James had the toughest defense

In the 2018-19 season, LeBron James joined the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers were a bad team in his first season and missed the playoffs. After the season, Anthony Davis joined the team to form a dominant duo with LeBron James. The Lakers were in a rebuild for numerous years. As such, James, followed by Davis, brought the team back to winning ways.

Recently, on the podcast Curious Mike, Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic talked about the 2020 Los Angeles Lakers. Jokic admitted on the podcast that the 2020 Lakers had the toughest defense to go through. In the Western Conference finals in 2020, the Denver Nuggets faced the Los Angeles Lakers. Jokic is tough to guard by anyone, but the Lakers had the size and physicality of Anthony Davis, Dwight Howard, and JaVale McGee.
