With the trade deadline less than two weeks away, all eyes are on Giannis Antetokounmpo and his future with the Milwaukee Bucks.
The superstar has long been the subject of trade rumors, with the New York Knicks initially being touted as a franchise he wanted to play with.
When that dream died on the negotiation table, the Greek star seemingly reiterated his commitment to the Bucks, confirming that the Bucks were his team.
Those words did not carry weight, as his demeanor and attitude made it clear that the father of four was not happy with the franchise and wanted to move.
Then, he injured his calf, putting him out of play for the next six weeks. After speaking with several sources, Henry Abbott, an award-winning journalist, wrote this on his Substack.
Multiple sources agree–has been talking to Giannis’s brother, Thanasis, as of late. Rich, it seems clear, would like to represent Giannis, and (despite what’s happening with Anthony Davis in Dallas) is said to have been making the case that he’s the guy who can get a star player where he wants to go.
Henry Abbott wrote
He claims that Giannis Antetokounmpo has become increasingly frustrated with his agent, Alex Saratsis, for not being able to find a good team where he can go.
Abbott came to learn that Rich Paul, LeBron James’ agent, is trying his best to convince the Bucks star to switch, so that he can get to a competitive team.
Insider believes Giannis Antetokounmpo has played his last game for Bucks
Rich Paul might be trying to pitch the idea that Giannis Antetokounmpo could get his move before the trade deadline. But even if that does not happen, Marc J. Spears believes a move is inevitable.

I think he’s played his last game in a Bucks uniform.
Marc J. Spears said on NBA Today
The ESPN and Andscape Insider felt that it was better for the Bucks to avoid waiting around and playing the two-time league MVP whenever he is healthy.

If they play him, and they start winning games, it will impact their chances of landing a top prospect in next year’s draft. That, along with an offseason trade for their most important star, will undermine them on both ends.
Spears believes that Antetokounmpo’s latest injury should not be an obstacle to moving him before the February 8th deadline. It is better if the Bucks make the move now and gather all the draft assets they can, as any further injury could only complicate matters.
Kendrick Perkins is tired of Giannis Antetokounmpo trade conversations
With conversations surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo and his future with the Milwaukee Bucks a daily point of discussion, one former player has heard enough.
At this point, I got Giannis and Bucks fatigue, I’m tired of talking about them.
Kendrick Perkins said on NBA Today
Kendrick Perkins pointed out that the 2026 NBA Draft will feature one of the best freshman draft classes in a while. The Milwaukee Bucks will not go wrong picking either of them to be their next building block.

Therefore, it is better that the franchise listens to available offers and tries to get their hands on as many assets as they can. Then, if it is still not enough, trade some more before the draft to get themselves in a position to pick the best prospect.
The former champion reiterated that if the Bucks wait too long, they risk the chance of getting the most out of a trade for Giannis Antetokounmpo, as teams across the league have a tendency to reduce their compensation if they get more time on the clock.
