LeBron James endorses Kamala Harris for POTUS
In a time when athletes find it hard to avoid politics, LeBron James made waves by endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris for president. Known for his outspoken political views, James has also been a vocal critic of her opponent, former President Donald Trump.
LeBron James took to social media to make the announcement and at the same time posted a video that juxtaposed civil rights protests and historical abuses with clips of Donald Trump. He particularly highlighted Trump’s recent rally at Madison Square Garden.
What are we even talking about here?? When I think about my kids and my family and how they will grow up, the choice is clear to me. VOTE KAMALA HARRIS!!! pic.twitter.com/tYYlTmQS6e

The video posted by King James included comments made by Trump, which portrayed the former president in a light that suggested racial bias. Furthermore, the video also included a clip of comedian Tony Hinchcliffe, who, at Trump’s rally, made a controversial and racially charged joke about carving watermelons.
And while he is just one vote, James’ influence and endorsement for Kamala Harris definitely carry weight. Especially as he remains one of the most prominent athletes in the country.

LeBron James literally broke the internet when he made his long-awaited endorsement for the Office of the President of the United States. It was long overdue, considering that he had been silent about the whole election, which was so unlike him.
Social media had a lot to say about the endorsement:

While preparing for the summer Olympics, James had a chance to meet Vice President Harris at the team’s training camp in Las Vegas, where they ultimately won the gold medal. And the four-time NBA champion isn’t the only big-name athlete to endorse her candidacy.
Before King James was Golden State Warriors’ coach Steve Kerr who had the honor of speaking at the Democratic National Convention with his famous night-night speech. Also, Stephen Curry gave a speech and fully embraced her candidacy.
