With Dirk Nowitzki, a fellow Dallas Mavericks great and Doncic’s former teammate, present, the stage was appropriately set for Doncic. Doncic received some heartfelt words of support while huddling with his latest superstar teammate, LeBron James, before the squad took the court. Doncic was singled out by the famous forward after he spoke to the team as a collective.

Luka, be your f***ing self. Don’t fit in, fit the f**k out. Be yourself.

Now, James seems to contradict himself with his latest remarks towards Doncic. For context, while James was at the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2015, he made a contradictory post on X. However, that time it was towards his Cavs’ teammate, Kevin Love.

This is opposite to what he told Doncic 10 years later in the Lakers’ black and gold. Not only that, in 2015, Love also chimed back. He called James’ X post as ‘extremely passive-aggressive and silly.’ However, there was no bad blood between Love and James after that.
