Without a game to focus on, LeBron James had all the time in the world to travel a short while to San Francisco to watch Super Bowl 60 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.

He has made it to the biggest sporting spectacle of the year on many occasions, even pulling family members and close friends along whenever they are available.

But despite the short distance and favorable home schedule, even if his family members were not willing to go, the King could have joined close friend Draymond Green on the Warriors’ flight back to the Bay Area.

Despite all those situations falling in place, the four-time champion preferred to watch from the comfort of his home. Maybe he did not want to fan any flames, especially with President Donald Trump and his administration looking out for dissenters.

Before the game started, many wondered which team LeBron James would support. After all, neither of these teams is in his list of preferred football franchises. But then, social media posts on his Instagram and X pages gave an insight into his betting activity.

After initially asking fans to get onto DraftKings and start betting, the Akron native shared the company’s post showcasing that James had bet on the Seattle Seahawks to win.

At the end, he ended up winning the bet, as the Washington-based franchise hoisted Super Bowl LX. More importantly, this was also a ‘win’ against his longtime ‘hater,’ Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, who had bet on the New England Patriots through DraftKings.

LeBron James also won against former ‘best friend,’ Drake

Dave Portnoy has always maintained that he ‘hates’ LeBron James, particularly for the way the superstar stopped his hometown Boston Celtics from winning more championships in the early 2010s.

But rapper Drake was the basketball players’ best friend at the time, and continued to be so up until a short while ago. Then, it changed to hate, as James sided with Los Angeles-based rapper Kendrick Lamar in the latter’s beef with the Canadian.

Lawsuits, diss tracks, and paid rumors followed, but Drake always ended up on the wrong side, as LeBron James continued to dance to Lamar’s ‘Not Like Us at every occasion possible.

It seems the Lakers forward continues to win in this debate, even if it is not something he did directly. Since the father of four already won his bet on the Seahawks, he invariable also won against his former ‘best friend,’ or ‘brother,’ as they used to term themselves.

Drake placed a $1 million bet on the New England Patriots. Going by the spread, he was gunning for the massive $2.95 million payout. However, he lost that money after the Seahawks won.

LeBron James originally did not have a Super Bowl favorite

Super Bowl LX was unusual, as it did not contain a clear fan favorite. Even though there are more New England Patriots fans, this was not a Tom Brady-era team that one could blindly place their trust in.

It seems LeBron James was also in the same boat, as the football fanatic in him did not want to openly commit to one team. This was his response when ESPN’s Lisa Salters asked him after their game on Saturday.

Nah, people are gonna be mad at me if I pick a team.

LeBorn James replied

Still, the veteran courtside reporter and wife of Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White prodded the four-time league MVP to pick somebody.

I got the winner.

LeBron James said

It was clear he did not want to pick either of the Seahawks or Patriots at the time, as he, too, was not sure. Then, maybe due to his links to DraftKings, he was forced to pick the latter.
