The Big 3 was formed when the NBA legends Lebron James and Chris Bosh decided to join Dwyane Wade in Miami, signing for the Miami Heat. However, before joining forces in South Beach, the three decided not to play for either of their first teams. Then, rumors circulated that the Chicago Bulls or New York Knicks would be their favored landing locations. Notably, former NBA player Gilbert Arenas shared his views on how the Big 3 wanted to move to the Knicks, but the Knicks failed to do this deal.

NBA veteran point guard Gilbert Arenas disclosed the original location of the proposed team-up involving LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and 11-time All-Star Chris Bosh on the most recent episode of his podcast. Before deciding to play for the Miami Heat, Arenas claims they were initially going to sign with the Knicks.

When Dwyane Wade, Bosh, and LeBron decided to team up, they was not playing in someone city so they can all be fresh...They didn’t want to play with Amar’e Stoudemire because they had they own Big 3. So, because New York f—– it up, they called Micky [Arison] and say, ‘Hey, Micky. This is what we wanna do. Can you make it happen?’ And then made it work'

However, the move to the Knicks never happened, and the Big 3 went on to make history with the Heat in the NBA. Interestingly, the deal for six-time All-Star Amar’e Stoudemire that same summer, in Arenas’ opinion, ruined their prospects of realizing the dream. The Knicks limited their cap room by signing him to a five-year, $99.7 million contract, meaning they could only sign two of the “Big 3.”

Gilbert Arenas does not believe that LeBron James is a ‘true Lakers icon’

The Los Angeles Lakers fans hold their star man and NBA legend LeBron James in high regard, with some labeling him a true Lakers icon of the franchise. However, Gilbert Arenas does not believe the same, he feels James is not a true Lakers icon and will never be able to match stars who played their careers for the franchise, such as Magic Johnson and Kobe Bryant.

LeBron was a rental for the Lakers' greatness, and that's just something he's gonna have to accept, His [scoring] milestones came in this uniform... but the legacy wasn't built here.
On the Nightcap Show, alongside Shannon Sharpe, Gilbert Arenas said

This is a valid point, to some extent. Beyond this Lakers success, James’ two stays in Cleveland and his contentious tenure in Miami are more legendary. He was already regarded as one of the best players of all time by the time he arrived in Los Angeles.
