With the Lakers drafting Bronny James, many expectations will be placed on the young prodigy, with some hoping he fails to serve their agendas. Next season will be entertaining to watch, even though it’s unclear exactly what Bronny’s role will entail for the James duo in purple and gold.
LeBron James unfollowed Rachel Nichols on Instagram after her wild take on Bronny James
Bronny James was drafted as the Lakers’ 55th overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. However, not everyone was a big fan of this selection, one of them in particular being the recognized NBA reporter Rachel Nichols.
Allegedly, LeBron James unfollowed her on Instagram after Nichols’ wild take on Bronny James, claiming that he would never be a star in the NBA. On the day after James Jr. was drafted, someone on social media noticed that LeBron had unfollowed NBA reporter Rachel Nichols on Instagram.
Nichols had conceded that she didn’t believe it would be “crazy” to try to develop James Jr. in the second round by taking a chance on him after first claiming that he would not be a star in the NBA.
Meanwhile, the Lakers’ management has been vocal regarding James Jr’s development in the NBA, planning to introduce him in the summer league. Lakers’ new head coach JJ Redick, and GM, Rob Pelinka, have both showered high praise on the former USC Trojan player, labeling him “an outstanding player.” It remains to be seen how Bronny James performs in the 2024-25 NBA season.
