On Thursday night, Luka Doncic and Anthony Edwards, two outstanding young players, squared off against each other. Both stars are in the running for the ‘next face of the NBA’ title. Notably, Edwards was ejected in the Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Los Angeles Lakers matchup. After his ejection, the media slashed Edwards because he could be ‘the next face of the NBA.’

However, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James was furious with this. Later, James was questioned about Edwards on whether he should want to be the NBA’s face and if he would be. His response set the media on fire as James did not hold back. He first targeted the mainstream media regarding this topic, moving forward to the NBA analysts next. In addition, former NFL player Ryan Clark agreed with James.

LeBron James was right! Who in the world would want to be the face of the NBA? I wouldn’t, because all we do is sh*t on the best players of this era whenever we get a chance.

In addition, Clark also made himself clear regarding NBA legends James, Kevin Durant, and Stephen Curry. Apart from the ‘face of the NBA’ topic, Clark stated that the sports community ‘has to pay homage’ to these stars once they call it quits on the sport.

Although the coverage of the league has generated some criticism, it is not entirely negative. A face is necessary for every league. When James retires, Edwards is undoubtedly on the shortlist of players who might take over as the league’s face.

Stephen A Smith hits back at LeBron James’ ‘face of the NBA’ comments

The most well-known figure in the sport, LeBron James, continues to make headlines. Every action King James takes, both on and off the field, garners media attention. Just like his recent scathing of the NBA media regarding the ‘next face of the NBA.’ However, this did not sit well with NBA analyst Stephen A Smith.

To sit up there and say, ‘Why would you want to be the face of the league when everybody is talking sh*t about you all the damn time.’ I’m sick and tired of them acting like everybody is talking sh*t about them all the damn time.

However, it also looks like James is making the most of this topic. Everyone agrees that the NBA needs to improve in a few areas. They need to redesign the All-Star weekend. Furthermore, the continuous reviews are making certain games take much too long to finish. Changes implemented well could change the league for the better and superstars wouldn’t mind becoming the face of the league.
