The Los Angeles Lakers faced the Utah Jazz on Monday night, securing a victory. The spotlight was on the much-anticipated debut of their newest star, Luka Doncic. Lakers fans were treated to the sight of not just one but two superstars on the court—Doncic and the legendary LeBron James. However, after the game, James once again showcased his trademark humility.
It’s quite evident that James likes the new starting lineup for the Los Angeles Lakers. Against the Jazz on Monday, James shared a picture of himself, Austin Reaves, and Doncic on the court for the first time on Instagram. “1️⃣5️⃣&7️⃣7️⃣ 🥶 as 🗣️F!!!!!! Lucky Me!” James posted on his Instagram official account.
As for the game, James led the charge in a remarkable effort. He scored 24 points, dished out eight assists, and pulled down seven rebounds in just 29 minutes. In addition, Reaves scored 22 points and pulled down nine rebounds. Additionally, Rui Hachimura scored 21 points.
Still recovering from a calf injury, Doncic played a total of 24 minutes and finished with five rebounds, four assists, and 14 points on a 5-of-14 shooting night. On Wednesday, the Lakers will play the Jazz once more, this time in Salt Lake City, Utah. All eyes will drift onto this particular game, as Doncic settles in among his new teammates and new surroundings in the West.
Austin Reaves ‘grateful’ to play alongside LeBron James and Luka Doncic duo
Austin Reaves was the most excited out of the trio to make his feelings clear after the Lakers defeated the Jazz at the Crypto.com Arena. In addition. the combined basketball IQ between Reaves, Luka Doncic, and LeBron James is going to be the most exciting thing for fans to watch this season. It’s safe to say that Reaves agrees with this.
I just think it could be a thing of beauty, Luka is one of the best passers in the world, and that’s why I just–I’m sure you already knew–but six for six, I think they were almost all lobs, if not all lobs. We could’ve had a couple more, Bron (LeBron James) threw one out of bounds. But yeah, I think it’s just the high-level IQ going along with pieces that really fit.

Reaves also stated that he is grateful to play alongside the star duo of James and Doncic. Given that, the Lakers currently have a strong 32-19 record and are ranked fourth in the Western Conference. They have the chance to improve their status in the NBA with Doncic as they try to improve their performance in the next games.
