LeBron James proudly led Team USA on their way to the Opening Ceremony of the Paris Olympics 2024 with the USA flag in hand. A moment that the all-time leading scorer in NBA history will cherish. In that moment, national teammate Devin Booker shot a video as part of his vlog. The visuals would probably stay with the James family forever. But it was something that Booker said that The King had to respond to.

The Phoenix Suns superstar recorded the 4-time champion holding the flag and looking at the Opening Ceremony events. At that time, the All-Star said:

Devin Booker was definitely having fun while shooting that part. As the clip shows Team USA Basketball 3×3 members standing close were overheard having fun alongside him. Not only the fans but even members of the USA Olympics contingent felt that LeBron James looked like a flag-bearing patriot on the boat.

One has to realize that basketball stars have the height advantage over the much shorter rest of the USA Olympics members. Therefore, James at 6′ 9″ was bound to tower over the others. Making the image look like he was the leader.

LeBron James shouts out his mother alongside Coco Gauff

The Eiffel Tower was the final destination for all Olympic athletes during the Opening Ceremony. As the boat carrying the Team USA contingent reached the historic landmark, LeBron James shouted this out;

“Mama, we made it.”

Tennis star and flag bearer Coco Gauff joined in to shout that out as fellow tennis star Chris Eubanks shot the moment on his phone. James was probably on a live call with his family at the time.

Naturally, leading his fellow Team USA athletes into the Paris Olympics 2024 as the primary flag bearer is an honor for the Los Angeles Lakers superstar. It seems he wanted to share it with his family as the destination arrived. Shouting out to his mother, who made sacrifices to ensure he has the basis for the career he has had in the NBA.

Therefore, this shoutout was a fitting tribute. After all, no NBA player in history has managed to do this in their lives. This moment is another in a long line of accomplishments for the 4-time NBA Finals MVP.
