Stephen Curry’s ‘Night Night’ has taken the world by storm. He first broke out the celebration, which was voted the best celebration in the league, during the 2022 NBA playoffs, where the Warriors went on to win the NBA title.

In the Golden State Warriors’ win against the Dallas Mavericks in Klay Thompson’s return to the Bay, Curry took over late in the game, nailing the dagger with a clutch three-pointer and performing his viral celebration. As his celebration took over the internet, Simmons hinted at James’ jealousy at the public approval of Curry’s celebration.

I just feel like LeBron must be furious that he didn’t think of this. Like, he’s probably fired his quirk management, whoever the guy is on his team. It’s like, how did you not give me the night-night? I would have been doing that in, like, 2013.

Simmons suggested that LeBron James’ lack of a viral celebration during his prime years with the Miami Heat may have stunted his popularity. He called out James’ ‘quirk management’ team, essentially his PR team, for not thinking up a similar celebration for the Lakers star first.

For his part, James has always had an iconic celebration on hand. He previously used the ‘Crown’ celebration, owing to his ‘King James’ nickname. But his most iconic one is the ‘Silencer’ celebration, which he recently brought back in a win against the New Orleans Pelicans.

LeBron James’ ‘silencer’ celebration may not currently be the same cultural phenomenon that Stephen Curry’s ‘Night Night’ is, but it has been one of the most iconic celebrations of the past decade. After a few years of dormancy, James brought back the celebration on Saturday night as he shared a special moment with his son Bronny James.

LeBron nailed a dagger three-pointer against the New Orleans Pelicans and performed his iconic celebration. However, the sight of his son Bronny performing the celebration alongside him from the Lakers bench was undoubtedly a heartwarming sight. The rookie James sat out for the game against the Pelicans ahead of his second game in the NBA G-League with the South Bay Lakers.
