LeBron James and Anthony Davis
Ever since the Luka-Doncic–Anthony Davis trade took place, a lot of doubts and concerns raised regarding Davis’ inclusion on the Mavs’ roster. However, Davis is putting his doubters to bed with his recent performances. The Dallas Mavericks recently played against the Atlanta Hawks at the American Airlines Center and won, thanks to Davis’ last-second heroics.
Davis was a true hero as the Mavericks defeated the Hawks 120-118 in the closing minutes. The game was deadlocked with 3.4 seconds remaining when Davis got the inbounds pass and surged past his opponent to make the game-winning basket. His up-and-down game ended with a double-double, which was the ideal conclusion.

Notably, Davis was elbowed by his teammate Daniel Gafford injuring his right eye during the first half, which caused him to miss a portion of the match. After receiving additional evaluation in the locker room, he returned wearing a patch on his right eyelid with two minutes remaining in the first half. For the rest of the game, he wore the patch.
In the 34 minutes he played, Davis ended with 34 points, 15 rebounds, two assists, and five blocks, demonstrating that he was unfazed by his eye injury. For the Mavericks, Klay Thompson scored 17 points. They are 1 1/2 games ahead of the Sacramento Kings, who are in 10th place in the Western Conference, in ninth place.
In addition, his former Lakers teammate LeBron James took to his socials to praise Davis. LeBron James wrote on his Instagram story, “Game Blouses!!”

However, for the Mavs’ the road to secure a playoff or a play-in spot won’t be easy. They are 9th in the West with a 38-39 record and face the Los Angeles Clippers twice. Notably, they are still without their star player Kyrie Irving, but Davis’ inclusion eases some pressure on the roster. Davis and Co. will have to be at their best to secure a playoff berth before the season ends.
