Opening night a possibility for Bronny James’ debut, NBA insider says
While his legendary father, LeBron James, is canvassing for a skin for him on Call of Duty, the Los Angeles Lakers are targeting the regular-season opener on October 22 for the duo to play together. Shams Charania revealed the news when he appeared on ESPN’s Get Up.
We’re going to be seeing history very, very soon. The expectation around the Lakers is that their debut together, the first father-son duo in NBA history to play at the same time in a game, will be as soon as opening night. October 22 against the Minnesota Timberwolves at home at Crypto.com Arena from everything I’m told. That is the plan, that is the hope.

This is coming from earlier reports that indicated that Lakers head coach JJ Redick wanted the father-son duo to share the court as early as possible. In addition to that, Redick had mentioned the possibility of Bronny joining the South Bay Lakers in the G League for more playing time and development.
However, this would occur later in the season as the G League season starts in November. The Lakers and their fans have a busy start to their season as they host the Minnesota Timberwolves on October 22. Soon after, games against the Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings follow.
