LeBron James has always been a huge fan of the Dallas Mavericks superstar, Luka Doncic. He has always praised Doncic ever since the Slovenian began his NBA career. Now, James will most likely be the happiest member of the Los Angeles Lakers roster. This is because, in an all-exclusive deal, the Lakers have traded their star, Anthony Davis for Luka Doncic.
This news was broken out by ESPN reporter Shams Charania. This was just after the Lakers finished their game against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Notably, James has always been looking forward to playing alongside Doncic. In fact, at one point in time, the four-time champion once wished for to play alongside the Slovenian superstar.

Doncic, a Slovenian native who is now out with a calf injury, is regarded as one of the finest next-generation stars in the world. The guard has made five consecutive All-NBA selections. As for the trade, the Mavs have acquired Anthony Davis, Max Christie, and a first-round pick. The trade also includes the Utah Jazz in a reported three-team deal.

For at least ten more years, Luka Doncic was expected to be the Dallas Mavericks’ face. He is currently a Laker in Los Angeles. When Shams Charania announced the deal, most NBA fans thought he had been hacked. Not only that, it left Mavs legend Dirk Nowitzki stunned. He posted his reaction on X.
Dirk Nowitzki posted, ‘a single (shocked) emoji.’ In addition, Doncic will be considered as the ‘next face’ in the Lakers’ franchise. Along with James this season, a lot of expectations will be on the Slovenian to deliver in black and gold.

It’s an incredible trade of enormous scale that will have a big effect on the playoff race in the Western Conference. As February gets underway, the Lakers are 28-19 on the season and in fifth place in the Western Conference. Also, the Mavs are 26-23 and in eighth place.
