Since there are strong opinions from fans of both LeBron James and Michael Jordan, the GOAT debate has become a never-ending time loop of conversations. The former is looking to fight for a title before he retires, so that he can use that to reaffirm his belief that he is the greatest of all time.
That is what has plagued the minds of basketball fans for a long time. The Chicago Bulls’ great had a career that, for much of the last 2 decades, was deemed to be the best of any player in NBA history.
But the Los Angeles Lakers superstar’s continuous dedication to his craft has seen him excel in many statistical departments. All those numbers, along with his consistency over the past 22 seasons, have many believing that he has overtaken Jordan.
Even though their careers can bring no clear conclusion, some believe the 6-time champion is a far better individual player than James. YouTuber, Mr. Beast, wants the two to settle the debate in a 1v1 contest.
I was just randomly thinking. Imagine if we got LeBron and Michael Jordan to 1v1, but we like handicapped LeBron in some way. They would never do it, but imagine if we could get that to happen.

Mr. Beast referenced a video where soccer great Cristiano Ronaldo played 1v1 against a random fan for $1 million. However, the YouTuber agreed that, as wild as the stakes might sound, there is no chance the two most accomplished basketball players would ever agree to this matchup.
Handicapped LeBron James vs. 62-year-old Michael Jordan
LeBron James is currently 22 years younger than Michael Jordan and in elite shape. He was just voted to the 2nd-Team All-NBA, which means he can hang in there with the best of the best.
That is probably what prompted Mr. Beast to suggest that the Lakers star should be handicapped in some way before taking on the Chicago Bulls great. However, it would still be a one-sided affair, considering Jordan might not have touched a basketball in a while.
James is in the best shape a 40-year-old can be in. On top of that, he is ambidextrous and practices off-hand shooting. That can become a bit too much for a person whose grandson is a few years younger than James’ youngest child.
As much as the Akron native might want to settle the GOAT debate, he has tremendous respect for Michael Jordan. On top of that, he would not agree to such a matchup since there is a big chance he could embarrass the 62-year-old Bulls great.
Michael Jordan vs. LeBron James would have been prime-time television
In his third and final stint as a basketball player, Michael Jordan donned a Washington Wizards jersey and went to work. Injuries had impacted his return, but more importantly, he was nearing age 40 and was basically on a mission to improve the team.

A few months after he retired, LeBron James was selected No. 1 overall. At the time, the hype surrounding him was unreal. Now, many fans would have liked it if His Airness had played one more season.
The battles between the great and the Chosen One would have been prime-time television. No matter how their battles would have ended up, those potential matchups would have given that extra bit of flavor to the GOAT debate.
LeBron James is looking to fight for a 5th title before he retires. If he does so, his fans will have a louder argument about his stake as the best ever. But even then, there are several reasons why this debate might never be officially over.
