LeBron James’ love for golf has been evident to anyone following his offseason, especially this year. On the course, “King James” finds serenity, often teeing off and enjoying the game in his hometown of Akron, Ohio, over the summer.

Before the season begins, there’s a unique mix of fun and grind. The Lakers’ star captured this in a video of himself at the golf course, along with an honest admission about the sport on his Instagram stories.

Addicted, I’m sorry. I know, yeah, that’s it. Rain and everything.

It’s not the first time James has been spotted on the golf course. Over the last month, the Laker star was found having a swing on the course in Akron alongside his friends. A few weeks back, he also took his son and Laker’s youngster, Bronny James, to tag along with him.

Several NBA stars have turned to golf as their careers come to a close, and James seems to be the most recent. When he first began posting videos, the 40-year-old was ridiculed for his golf swing; Stephen Curry even made fun of him by mimicking him.

According to the recent video that he posted, however, James’ swing does seem to have improved somewhat. Although it’s still not a very good swing, James would eventually learn how to do it. Given how frequently he plays golf, by the end of the offseason, fans should hope they might notice a noticeable improvement.

However, James will need a lot of practice to be as good as Curry, who won the 2023 American Century Championship celebrity golf competition.

Jayson Tatum’s reaction to LeBron James’ golf swing

Last month, LeBron James went viral for his awkward golf swing among the NBA players, analysts, and fans. So much so that many reacted to it via social media, and some were asked during their podcast appearances. One of them was the Boston Celtics star, Jayson Tatum. He was shown James’ swing on the golf course, to which he reacted hilariously, squinting his eyes with a smile and trying to take in what he saw.

I’m just happy my guy’s out there. It’s been a long time coming. You’ve got to get out there. You’ve got to fall in love with the game. We all probably look like this when we first got out there. Hopefully he keeps practicing, and he’s only up from there.

James’ social media photo from July 4th, which featured him teeing off in shorts and a striped shirt, marked the start of his golf affair. In one instance, his stiff swing almost missed the ball, making the sports world giggle. Ever since then, James has been at the sport relentlessly, sometimes practicing with friends or with his family.

LeBron James’ reaction to Jayson Tatum’s feedback on his golf swing

Since the sport has long been so popular among NBA players, it is perhaps a little unexpected that James has only recently picked up the sport. After being trolled for his swing, James released a new video, showcasing a much-improved swing. In addition, after coming across Tatum’s reaction, James also made an honest admission about his golf swing.

Yes, sir! I’m getting there

LeBron James said on his improved golf swing

Don’t be shocked if James, 40, improves his golf skills rapidly, even though he is late to the party. James is well-known for maintaining his physical fitness over the years. Golf is not particularly inexpensive, but it is less costly than his customary offseason routine, which is said to cost him $1 million.
