Before coming to the Los Angeles Lakers, Luka Doncic has always talked about his admiration for LeBron James. The 40-year-old superstar has maintained that same respect and even gloated about the Slovenian quite a few times. Now they are playing together.

After his trade from the Dallas Mavericks, his former team started to throw out negative rhetorics on why they moved on from him. Franchise owner Patrick Dumont seemingly suggested that Doncic was not driven enough like many legends of the game.

His words did not catch with the audience as Luka Doncic just took them to the NBA Finals. The onslaught of attacks from fans led them to indirectly release some more vitriol on their former player. This time, it was about his drinking habits along with his interest in hookah.

Many have come forward to slam the Mavericks for trying to slander their former cornerstone. But at the same time, many know it is not an unknown that Doncic does have an affinity towards hookah. Even current teammate LeBron James once mocked it.

The four-time league MVP said this as he was calling out his picks for his 2023 All-Star team. James probably said it as a joke, considering he usually never slanders his peers. Now he is working with Doncic and might have to contend with his affinity to that pastime.

Luka Doncic not happy with shooting woes

Fans are convinced those hookah issues are not to be blamed for an otherwise stellar showing from the young Slovenian. He has been named five straight times to the All-NBA 1st team for a reason. Luka Doncic‘s play so far for the Los Angeles Lakers though, has not been without hiccups.

The superstar shot a woeful 1-9 from the three which added to his 6-20 field goal tally. Those misses allowed the Minnesota Timberwolves to close in later in the game. Thankfully, his only three, quite a spectacular one at that, came just at the right time.

That shot stopped the momentum the Timberwolves were enjoying. It threatened to tilt the game to their advantage, but that falling off balance three-pointer deflated their hopes. The Los Angeles Lakers play a back-to-back tomorrow against their cross-town rivals. Hopefully his shooting improves against them.
