With teams gearing up for the new season, the Los Angeles Lakers’ preseason schedule has raised some concerns, particularly with a lone game in Milwaukee against the Bucks. This unusual trip for just one game has drawn criticism from star player LeBron James.

LeBron James took to social media to express his displeasure about the unnecessary long-distance trip. Typically, the Lakers’ preseason games are held closer to home in Southern California, Phoenix, Las Vegas, or the Bay Area.

Can someone please explain to me why we’re getting on a (plane) and heading to Milwaukee for 1 pre-season game!?!?

The Lakers’ preseason schedule began with a home game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, followed by a matchup against the Phoenix Suns at Crypto.com Arena. Both games were pivotal as the first marked Bronny James’ debut while the second went down in history after the father-son duo shared the court together.

The Los Angeles Lakers’ clash with the Milwaukee Bucks in Wisconsin will be their first preseason game outside California this year. This matchup is part of their unusual preseason schedule and has drawn some attention.

Social media reacted to LeBron James’s post, in which he questioned the motives behind the scheduling. Later, ESPN’s Bobby Marks provided additional context regarding the game and the Lakers’ preseason.

As someone who handled this in NJ/Brooklyn, the pre-season schedule is done in-house and not thru the NBA. The process is similar to how colleges arrange non-conference games. It looks like the Milwaukee game was part of a home-home arrangement between both teams. The Bucks played at Los Angeles last October.

King James’ original post garnered significant attention, with over 40,000 likes and 5.2 million impressions in less than three hours. And with coach JJ Redick also complaining about the schedule, it seems something is happening behind the scenes.
