“C’mon man that’s tough” LeBron James reacts to watching son Bronny score first points in Lakers jersey
Bronny James scored 4 points on his NBA Summer League debut.
LeBron James reacts to watching son Bronny James score first points in Los Angeles Lakers jersey
Bronny James‘ first plays as a member of the Los Angeles Lakers happened today at the California Summer League. In those plays, he also made his first points while wearing the purple and gold. Therefore, it was natural for his family to be ecstatic about it. However, his father, LeBron James, only saw a replay after Team USA’s scrimmage.
James was walking away from the scrimmage facilities when a reporter handed him his phone with the replay of Bronny James‘ first bucket. Lebron James saw his son get a pass near the 3-point line and drive in. Then, as James Jr. went up, he faked the ball and converted an easy layup. The proud father stopped and reacted.

A smile was visible as the father saw his son make history. But he knows it will only improve as James Jr. gets more game time. The California Summer League has two more preparation games for James Jr. and the Los Angeles Lakers. After that, Bronny James will get at least four more games in the NBA 2K25 Summer League. He has a brilliant set of chances to improve his skills.
Even though his father isn’t around, he has Lakers coaches around him for these Summer League games. If he can take advantage of that and continue to develop, he could earn quality minutes off the bench in the regular season.
LeBron James will miss son’s Summer League games
If this happened in any other year, no one can count on the fact that LeBron James would be in the stands watching his son play. However, the Olympics have made it difficult for that to happen. The superstar is with his Team USA mates as they participate in the first scrimmages. They also have to play one friendly in Las Vegas on July 11th.
However, they will then jettison out of Las Vegas as they will go abroad to play friendlies. At around the same time, Bronny James and his Los Angeles Lakers teammates will land in Las Vegas for the 2K25 Summer League. Therefore, it is highly unlikely that James Sr. can watch his son play in a Lakers jersey.
LeBron James has brought this team together to win gold and bring respect back to USA Basketball. However, if he receives permission from Team USA, he will be allowed to catch the Lakers game on July 12th before catching the flight to Abu Dhabi.
