The Los Angeles Lakers recently played against the Boston Celtics at the TD Garden on Saturday night. Notably, things did not go well for either LeBron James or his Lakers side. The Lakers lost against the Celtics in a crunch matchup by 111-101. On the other hand, James left the game late in the 4th quarter due to a groin injury, leaving his fans concerned.
In addition, James made an alarming admission regarding his recent injury. The 22-year NBA veteran said that his thoughts immediately turned to Christmas Day 2018. This was when he sustained a torn groin and missed the next 17 games, slowing Los Angeles’ progress in his first season with the team. However, that does not seem to be the case.
The first thing that popped into my mind was Christmas Day my first year with the Lakers. Second thing I thought about was AD…No, it’s not as bad as that. It’s not as bad as that.
After the game, LeBron James said

Moreover, James ended with 22 points on 11-of-23 shooting (0-for-6 from three), 14 rebounds, and 9 assists. The King has appeared in 58 of the Lakers’ 62 games as of Saturday and has contributed significantly to their glory. He is averaging 25 points on 51.7% shooting (38.4% from three), 8.5 assists, and 8.2 rebounds.
As per ESPN, it is too early to project a clear timeframe for how long James might be out until he receives medical imaging. Some have also reported that he may be out for weeks and not days. Nevertheless, the Lakers have to do time without James for a while.

While it is far too early to tell how severe James’ injury is, head coach JJ Redick delivered an update following the game that Lakers fans may not be pleased with. Redick claimed that there is “obviously concern” with James’ injury.
I think we just have to continue to play hard and play defense.

Despite turning 40 in December, James has displayed few indications of slowing down. He is having another tremendous season and was named an All-Star for the 21st time. Furthermore, he continues to demonstrate his relevance to the Lakers’ pursuit of another championship. All attention would now drift onto James’ return on the court.
