- LeBron James showcased a bloody scar on his knee from a head-first dive during a game against the Nuggets.
- Rich Paul defended LeBron, stating the Lakers are not better without him and need time to build chemistry.
- Stephen A. Smith criticized Charles Barkley for claiming the Lakers aren't championship contenders, asserting they are currently performing well.
Over his entire 23-season career, LeBron James has faced a lot of criticism despite his exemplary performances on the court day in and day out.
The Los Angeles Lakers have grown used to it and generally try to ensure these narratives do not impact him. But he is human, after all, and that leads to some instances where the forward takes the opportunity to clap back at those critics.
Most of the time, it either dampens the criticism to a certain extent or it fuels another bout of social media rage bait, where James again ends up on the receiving end.
However, the four-time champion has never bothered himself about the narratives on social media. It is those created by members of the media, or former players, that prompt him to respond.
This season alone, James has posted quite a few videos clapping back at those critics who either want him gone from the Lakers or are just undermining his body of work at age 41.
Might be it for diving for the year! Ouch!! LOL
LeBron James wrote on IG
This was the caption of the father of three to a short reel showing off a battle scar. That bloodied wound looks like it is on the outside of his right knee.

Considering how he wore a knee pad over that very same knee, the impact of him crashing to the floor trying to recover the ball was big enough to leave such a mark. With this, LeBron James was again cheekily reminding his critics that he is ready to do anything to win.
Rich Paul comes to LeBron James’ defense
While that IG post might silence a few critics, most of them are still harping about how, without LeBron James, the Los Angeles Lakers play better.

You hear all the nonsense about the team being better without LeBron. I’ve never seen a team in my life that would be better without LeBron James…. You have to factor in his presence. Most guys who step on the floor with LeBron James are in awe.
Rich Paul said on the Game Over Podcast
The super agent reiterated how the Lakers have not had enough time to field all of their leading superstars. Therefore, it is too premature to label it as being the fault of his most important client.

Building a team and its chemistry takes time, and Paul believes the franchise will eventually figure out how to use best the trio of LeBron James, Austin Reaves, and Luka Doncic.
Stephen A. Smith slams Charles Barkley for dissing LeBron James’ Lakers
While Rich Paul tries to defend LeBron James’ role, Charles Barkley made it clear on Inside the NBA that he still does not believe that the Los Angeles Lakers are a championship contender moments before their win against the Denver Nuggets.
Charles needs to calm down. Stop whining. You got a good job, you’re looking good, you’re feeling good, you’re getting ready to do the NCAA Tournament, you’re getting paid lovely, you’re chilling in Atlanta and now you’re going to Dayton. Just relax, calm the brakes. A top-three seed in a conference is a contender. He knows this.
Stephen A. Smith said on First Take
This was his close friend suggesting that the Hall of Famer should quit whining and analyze the Lakers based on how they are playing currently.

Smith reiterated that LeBron James has figured it out, and his teammates are adjusting well to his new role. That has enabled them to put together a run of wins, elevating them to third in the West.
If that does not scream championship contender, then Stephen A. Smith did not understand what would lead Charles Barkley to label one as such.
