Rich Paul owned Klutch Sports had Brooklyn Nets star Ben Simmons on their roster

After taking some time off to heal his ailing back, Ben Simmons is about to return to action. He was once considered a young player who could become great at his game and was a part of the Klutch Sports roster including LeBron James. However, Klutch Sports owner Rich Paul and Simmons parted ways last year.

The Brooklyn Nets playmaker is in the midst of reviving his NBA career as his contract winds down. Rapper Cam’ron Giles spoke about the situation regarding Simmons on the ‘It Is What It Is Talk’ podcast produced by Come and Talk 2 Me.

Ben Simmons coming out of LSU to sign with Klutch, to sign with Rich Paul and sign with LeBron. They didn’t tell me this, I have no inside information on this whatsoever. But it had to get to a point where they was like ‘Yo, get the f**k off our roster’.

Cam’ron said

Cam’ron feels any business that is trying to grow needs customers who add to their income. Klutch Sports earned a lot of commission when negotiating Simmons’ $177 million contract. But missing out on two full seasons of basketball will have ramifications on his future.

Additionally, Simmons has shown no desire to be great at basketball. Thus, the rapper opined that Klutch Sports, who need clients to earn NBA contracts, felt it was better to move on and direct their resources to a player who can help them succeed.

Ben Simmons has his NBA career on the line

As Cam’ron and Mase (Mason Durell Betha) mentioned, Ben Simmons has his NBA career on the line. They said they would choose to disregard his past issues with injuries and mental health if they saw improvements on the floor. Patrick Beverley echoed the same.

They want Simmons to stop talking about being back to health or his agent and trainer hyping him up. They want the 28-year-old to prove his worth as the Australian, when healthy, was a triple-double machine and even considered one of the best defenders in the league.

It is unknown what version of Simmons the Brooklyn Nets will have this season. Whatever it may be, he has to play to his best. Else, as Cam’ron said, it will be difficult for him to find a suitor in the next offseason.
