Only a handful of athletes have ever made LeBron James jump out of his couch. Irrespective of the sport, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer has special praise reserved for those who deserve it.
The superstar has recently taken up golf and has admitted he has quite a bit to go before he can even play decently well. His longtime rival, Stephen Curry, was amazed by this but was happy that James picked up the hobby at the age of 40.
Everyone is aware of how competitive the Lakers’ superstar can be. Therefore, it was no surprise that he was watching Scottie Scheffler and the others battle for the BMW Championship, held at the Caves Valley Golf Club in Maryland.
Scheffler went on to win the tournament, which also happens to be the penultimate round of the FedEx Cup Playoffs. But it was a play on the 71st hole that had the 4-time champion humping out of his couch.
The 29-year-old golfer was 81 feet away from the hole with the ball amid some inch-tall grass. Scheffler calmly chipped it up high. After the ball landed, fans immediately understood its trajectory was straight to the hole.
SCOTTIE. SCHEFFLER. ARE YOU KIDDING?!?!

They started chanting ‘go, go’ to egg the ball to keep moving, as its speed dropped as it inched closer to the hole. Then, when one would not imagine any more theatrics, the ball almost came to a halt before plunging into the hole.
Scheffler so damn COLD out there!!

This 40-year-old’s reaction sums up what fans around the world felt. Some have dubbed the shot as ‘the greatest shot of all time’. Maybe that’s why LeBron James felt Scottie Scheffler was cold to keep his calm and shoot it with perfection.
LeBron James plays golf with his closest friends
Since LeBron James has recently taken up golf, he knows he will be at a disadvantage when he goes up against those who have been playing the game for some time.
That did not stop the Los Angeles Lakers superstar from spending some quality time with his closest friends on the golf course. A photo shared by his Cleveland Cavaliers teammate and one of his best friends, Kevin Love, shows the superstars on a golf course.
Along with them are Draymond Green, Rich Paul, James’ business partners, Paul Rivera, Randy Sims, and a few other close associates. In another picture posted by Love, it shows the better halves with these men, except for Savannah James.
However, if one were to look closely, the Lakers’ superstar is not holding a golf club in his hands. Possibly, he kept it in the saddle or the golf cart, as it might not have been his turn. Or, he could have been avoiding playing, knowing he is still a novice.
LeBron James could reunite with Kevin Love
Kevin Love and LeBron James have been very close ever since the two were teammates and won an NBA championship. They split when the latter chose to move to Los Angeles.

Since then, Love has also moved on and spent the last 2 and a half seasons with the Miami Heat. In this offseason, he was again on the move, this time to the Utah Jazz.
However, he might not play a game for them as talks for a buyout are ongoing. Once matters are settled and he clears waivers, the 36-year-old will be able to sing with a team of his choice.
The California native wants to return home and has earmarked the two Los Angeles-based franchises as his next destination. If the Lakers do sign him, Love will be beside his close friend for what could possibly be James’ farewell tour.
