In his 23rd season, LeBron James might have taken a back seat for his Los Angeles Lakers, but there is no doubting the fact that he still commands the most presence in the league.
At age 41, the superstar forward is still the most talked-about player in a league that currently employs approximately 450 of them. Knowing how magnetic his pull is, the league is still struggling to find a replacement.
They have placed forward some young superstars such as Anthony Edwards, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and a few others, but as long as they do not snatch the ‘Face of the League’ moniker, James continues to hold it.
Hall of Famer Charles Barkley has made it clear that a player has to take it upon himself to replace the Lakers’ superstar. However, with that process taking time, fans, both young and old, still remain enamored by the four-time champion.
A clip surfaced on social media where a young fan yelled at LeBron James to sign his shoe after they won their battle against the Houston Rockets at Toyota Center.
The 22-time All-Star heard his plea but just waved at him and continued walking towards the locker room. At this point, the fan’s father, who was recording the sequence, told his son to say ‘please.’

As soon as the young boy said the magic word, James stopped in his tracks and called the fan over. Then, the league’s all-time leading scorer bent down and signed the fan’s left shoe. After that, the boy’s smile proved how happy he was, getting his shoe signed by one of the greatest of all-time.
LeBron James praised for accepting a lesser role
LeBron James is generally great at meeting and greeting fans, particularly the younger ones. But there are times in the past when he has been irked by a situation and refused to autograph or photograph requests.

But in this instance, the impressive win over the Houston Rockets may have played a part. This was their third-straight win after the oldest player in the league accepted an even lesser role.
I love seeing guys accept roles… Seeing Lebron become a part of the corner boy life, it’s good to see because it happens to the best of us. Once you accept the role, you prosper.
Nick Young said
The former Lakers star believes that even though there are enough signs, it takes a lot for star players to accept a lesser role. LeBron James willingly agreed to cede ground to Luka Doncic as the franchise’s most important player.

But to then take a step back and allow a player whom he nurtured to take his spot takes a lot of courage. The cast of Gil’s Arena generally agreed with Nick Young‘s logic, knowing it is hard to do what the King did.
Kendrick Perkins showers praise on his former teammate, LeBron James
A short while ago, when LeBron James was sidelined with an elbow injury, many leapt to the conclusion that the Lakers were better off without him.
Now, after three straight wins, with the narratives changing, Kendrick Perkins highlighted one statistic to prove how his former teammate has impacted winning.
He has fully accepted that, ‘I’m going to let Luka and Austin Reaves drive this car, and I’m gonna benefit off of playing off the ball.’ He leads the entire NBA in transition buckets. The man is 41 years old. He leads the entire NBA in transition points. Think about that for a second.
Kendrick Perkins said on the Road Trippin’ Show
Kendrick Perkins says LeBron James has accepted being the third option on the Los Angeles Lakers:

Perkins may not be able to salvage his relationship with James with these words, but what he said made sense, as the sheer fact that the Lakers superstar leads the league in transition points is enough to prove his effect on the team.
