Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James has quite the following. Fans line up to watch the 39-year-old play in the NBA and otherwise, and stories of his demeanor with fans have established him as someone who cares for the people.

However, some believe that he has a mean side, which is not always visible. A small example of it came when he snapped at a young fan after winning the gold medal at the Paris Olympics. Many were quick to suggest that he is generally not like that and maybe the fan invaded the Lakers star’s space.

However, actor and comedian Michael Rapaport has a tale of his own. He recalled an incident that took place during the 2011 All-Star game when Rapaport was in the arena to watch the game with his children. He narrated what transpired on an episode of the Vlad TV podcast.

I’m a huge NBA fan, when I was there with my kids. My kids weren’t even needy or wanting or k**y or they don’t want things signed, they’ll just give you like a pound. I had met him a bunch of times beforehand, and I brought my kids over. He looked my kids off.

Host DJ Vlad reasoned that LeBron James is a ‘mega celebrity’, suggesting he might have been pressed for time. But Rapaport was adamant that it was personal as he has known the superstar from his early days in the NBA.

That is why it ticked the actor off that the then Miami Heat star did not even bother to fist-bump his children. He reiterated that his kids did not want anything from James, but even then, the superstar ignored them.

Despite his kids being ignored, Michael Rapaport stated that LeBron James has had the best career of any superstar. When DJ Vlad talked about how James keeps his demeanor on the court, Rapaport jumped in with another incident.

The actor talked about meeting a player, whose name he did not want to reveal, who had an interesting take on how the Los Angeles Lakers superstar is behind the scenes. He told Vlad about the interaction that left the hair on the back of his head standing up.

A player in the NBA did once tell me ‘He’s the fakest player in the league. He’s the fakest motherf***er in the league.’

Michael Rapoport recalled

The 54-year-old comedian did say that the player in question might have said it to just get it off his chest. But it made him wonder if James was actually showing different personas in different situations.
