Bronny James reveals being starstruck by Stephen Curry
Being the son of one of the biggest NBA stars has not stopped Bronny James from fanboying over NBA players. Bronny has grown up watching the prominent figures in the league up close because of his dad LeBron James. One of them is the Golden State Warriors sharpshooter Stephen Curry who left Bronny starstruck by his aura.
As Bronny James is currently going through the NBA Draft Combine, the young athlete is getting a lot of media attention. During an interview with Bleacher Report, Bronny was asked about the last time he was left starstruck. LeBron James Jr. recalled a moment with his dad’s on-court rival at the Crypto.com arena.
I think when I seen Steph playing at Crypto a minute ago. He came up and dapped me up. I feel like that was really cool.Bronny James said
Stephen Curry greeted Bronny during last year’s Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinals while battling with LeBron James and the Lakers. The rival duo has given the NBA fans some of the most thrilling games in the league’s history. The superstars go head-to-head with same rigor during each matchup, despite competing for so many years.
After watching the greatness of his dad for a long time, it seems like Bronny is also in awe of Curry’s style being a point guard himself. As Bronny is now heading for the NBA draft, the player has a chance to play against Curry on a professional level.
Bronny James does not want to name his son LeBron James lll
In the same interview, Bronny hilariously took a jibe at his dad. While the 2024 draftee was asked who in the NBA, he will challenge for a one-on-one. Unsurprisingly, Bronny chose his father, as he hasn’t matched up with him in a while.
In the follow-up question, he was asked if he would follow in his dad’s footsteps and also name his son after him. Bronny is certainly not a fan of the idea as he quickly showed denial to the question.
Absolutely not.Bronny James said
James himself in 2018 admitted that he regrets naming his son after him during an episode of ‘The Shop’. That might be the reason LeBron James Jr. was given the nickname of Bronny, which is how most people know him.
