LeBron James ‘super excited’ to work with JJ Redick and son Bronny, despite Lakers’ quiet off-season
The Lakers' offseason has been marked by few significant moves, with the team missing out on top free agents.

LeBron James excited to work with Bronny and JJ Redick
The Los Angeles Lakers may not have had a perfect off-season. They have yet to recruit a star player to pair with LeBron James and Anthony Davis. James needs all the help he can receive to win his fifth NBA championship. The off-season might not have yielded the result he wanted. Nevertheless, James expressed his excitement about the Lakers’ new coaching staff, led by JJ Redick.
The four-time champion will have the unique honor of playing alongside his son, Bronny James, next season. The lack of off-season additions remains concerning for the fanbase. The team will aim to make a deep playoff run in the upcoming season after suffering a first-round exit against the Denver Nuggets. There is not much optimism in the air, but LeBron James looks forward with excitement.
We're excited to work with JJ and also to work with coach Brooks and coach McMillan as well. Those are great pieces to add to our coaching staff. I'm super excited to work with JJ and to start work in the fall. With my son, it's a dream come true for me to see my son be in the NBA and for us to be side-by-side.LeBron James via media interview ahead of Team USA Basketball camp

The Lakers’ offseason did not feature any significant moves. The team missed out on top free agents like Klay Thompson, DeMar DeRozan, and others. The addition of Dalton Knecht remains promising. Redick has a huge ask to develop players like Bronny, Knecht and others in the upcoming season. As such, LeBron James relishes the opportunity to put in the work.
As of now, a massive trade for the Lakers remains unlikely. It’s clear that the Lakers will be relying heavily on their new coaching staff and young players to improve their chances next season. As such, the Lakers once again will have the most anticipated storyline coming into next season with a new coach, rookies, and James’ quest to win ring No. 5.
LeBron James high on new Lakers teammate Dalton Knecht
LeBron James has expressed his admiration for new Lakers teammate Dalton Knecht. The Lakers selected Knecht with the 17th pick in Round 1 of the NBA draft. The Los Angeles Lakers superstar is impressed by his skills, which earned him SEC Player of the Year and Consensus first-team All-American honors.
Throughout the course of the college season Dalton, besides Bronny, was my favorite coach in college basketball. I watched his game throughout the whole season, I just liked his ability to shoot the ball, his athleticism... the demeanor that he plays with. I did not think he would fall to 17 at all.LeBron James via media interview ahead of Team USA Basketball camp
Knecht’s impressive college stats included averaging 21.7 points. Moreover, ‘King James’ believes Knecht could be a great fit on the Lakers team, providing much-needed scoring and outside shooting. James has been a fan of Knecht’s game for a while, even watching his games last season, including the Elite Eight matchup against Purdue.
With James’ endorsement and Knecht’s impressive skills, Knecht will likely make a significant impact in the Lakers’ rotation in his rookie season under new head coach JJ Redick. James’ praise and support could help Knecht settle into his new role and make a smooth transition to the NBA.
