It’s no secret that NBA icon LeBron James and UFC star Colby Covington do not get along. “Chaos” himself takes up every chance he gets to rip into James. Meanwhile, James also once challenged him to a fight due to his obnoxious pestering. While Covington has often waged war with him for being un-American, this time it’s different. Now, he takes up the charge after the recent confrontation with Stephen A. Smith.

The host of First Take on ESPN, Stephen A. Smith, and his commentary allegedly resulted in LeBron James actually discarding the team huddle ahead of the fourth quarter, Thursday night, to confront Smith. On his The Stephen A Smith Show, the analyst had flamed Bronny James for his performance against the Sixers. LeBron thus confronted him on comments that the kid gets all his fame pawned off his father. Now, “Chaos” pitches in after all the interactions.

What a scumbag, bro, like dude…it’s America – Freedom of speech, LeBron. Do you not realize we have Constitutional Amendments for a reason? Oh yeah, you don’t care about that you — You’re bought and sold by the Chinese finger… finger puppets so if you’re a scumbag LeBron you don’t care about this country that made you all that money and I hope you get sick… LeBron James, you a**, come see your real a** get your a** knocked the f—ck out without your private security!

Stephen A. Smith later confirmed that he understands the sentiment as a father. But LeBron James’ inner circle also flamed him over the critique on McDonald’s All-American Senior High fame Bronny James. Others have also quipped Bronny as the NBA’s version of a “Make-A-Wish kid.” Smith’s issue was that he’d confront him courtside in front of Endeavour boss Ari Emmanuel, rather than text or reach out.

The UFC welterweight has gone out of his way many times to smear the name of James. The four-time champion also came under fire for taking a few teammates and security, in one angle of a video, to confront Smith. That, too, over a commentary (excess or not) over a commonly held belief that Bronny is bloated because of his name. This didn’t sit well with many, including Covington.

Colby Covington has waged war with LeBron James many times

James has narrowly managed big controversies in his 21-year NBA tenure. But most of it comes from UFC fighter Covington. It’s not the first diss or call-up Colby Covington has done; it won’t be the last. Not that he did fare very well when an MMA fighter did meet up without an entourage or security. However, “Chaos” likes to douse some challenges to LeBron James, here and there.

The fighter competing out of Florida labeled him a “spineless coward” during UFC 296 PPV media availability last-to-last December. The two allegedly ran into online barbs after the Los Angeles Lakers’ win at the inaugural NBA In-Season Tournament for 2023-2024. Covington even claimed Lebron James’ security personnel begged him not to beat him up.

Orange County Register reporter Luca Evans posted a reel of James strolling into USC’s Galen Center, LA. The video shows him unbothered about the national anthem in the backdrop; it incited quite a reaction. The fighter has called James a communist and even a “Chinese finger puppet” for the nth time in a row. After a slight hint on attending one of P. Diddy’s infamous parties, Covington took the time to jibe him even for that.

The UFC 170-pound fighter is reeling from a UFC Tampa main event doctor’s stoppage TKO loss. Covington has no next booking for a fight yet but is on the rumor mill to fight after the next TUF season. At this rate, a potential fight with James looks like an impossible scenario for the American fighter.
