After back-to-back wins over Serbia on July 28 and South Sudan on July 31, Team USA took on Puerto Rico in their third game in Group C. Once again, LeBron and Co. brushed aside their opponents with the final scoreline reading 104-83. However, James stole the spotlight after video footage captured him making an outrageous pass to Joel Embiid that absolutely no one saw coming, not even the Puerto Rican defenders.
Team USA was leading Puerto Rico 46-43 in the second quarter, and were on the offensive, when LeBron James slipped in a clever back pass to Joel Embiid who had snuck in undetected by his marker, at the near post. Embiid upon receiving the ball, made no mistake as he proceeded to score easily without resistance.
