LeBron James has an unreal ability to track players even while dribbling the basketball.
LeBron James' wild pass in Team USA Olympics practice has analyst Chris Broussard almost calling him the GOAT
When the best of the best players in the NBA decide to team up for national interests, it is bound to bring out some extremely high-level basketball. Even though they have dazzled fans on numerous occasions, they have something up their sleeves occasionally. One such play during Team USA practice led to analyst Chris Broussard to almost call Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James the GOAT.
The crew of First Things First were watching some of the latest practice clips from Team USA’s sessions. In one of the clips, LeBron James is seen throwing a pass to Devin Booker on the other side of the floor. But it was not a normal pass. Rather, the 39-year-old threw it off the wall behind the court. Seeing this, Chris Broussard exclaimed:
That ALMOST makes me want to say, 'Eh, GOAT'. Almost. That's a great pass. Everybody can't do that. You can see how impressed Steph was.Chris Broussard on First Things First
Broussard has always disregarded James from the GOAT conversation. So, for him to playfully say that the pass almost made the Los Angeles Lakers superstar the GOAT, had his colleagues in splits.
But his observation of how good the pass was is true. When James tossed the ball off the wall, Team USA assistant coach Ty Lue was standing right there. But his reaction suggests that he did not expect that. The same goes for Stephen Curry, who showed his appreciation for his fellow Akron native.
After all, Devin Booker did not even have to move an inch to receive the ball. To top that, James was dribbling toward the sideline when he threw the pass. To be on the move and send it perfectly to the target led Broussard to have such a reaction.
LeBron James could dial it up in the Olympics
The 4-time NBA champion has declared that the Paris Olympics will be his last competition wearing the stars and stripes. Therefore, it will be the last time he will be on the world stage. Now for someone who has been the face of the NBA for more than 2 decades, it will be the perfect opportunity to sign off.
Fans could expect LeBron James to dial up the splashy plays once in a while at the Olympics. He knows that the entire sporting world will be watching him and his teammates bring back the stardom factor to the games. But he will be center stage of it all. So he could dish out some of his no-look passes or unreal dishes to teammates knowing they will not fumble the ball.
