“His game hasn’t evolved…” 39-year-old LeBron James wouldn’t survive against old school players, claims Kwame Brown
Former NBA player Kwame Brown has slammed the Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James in a recent interview.
LeBron James and Kwame Brown
NBA and Los Angeles Lakers legend LeBron James has been one of the most successful players in the sport of basketball. Even at 39, James does not seem to stop and shows no signs of taking a break. Notably, he has played in different eras throughout his career and has adapted to each era differently. However, former NBA player Kwame Brown does not agree with this.
Brown recently spoke with Swish Cultures about LeBron James. “The King” is not a player who would cause any problems for players from the previous period, according to Kwame Brown. The former player emphasized that James is 39 years old. Additionally, Brown pointed out that James hadn’t changed other game elements to compensate for the loss of his athleticism.
The old-school players wouldn’t have any trouble with LeBron because, at 39, he should have developed a mid-range and a post game, and he still hasn’t yet…His game really hasn’t evolved outside of a three and putting his head down and going to the basket. He doesn’t go like Paul Pierce. Getting to a spot. Pulling up. Those are the things you normally see out of a superstar player.LeBron James via Swish Cultures
Despite the remarks, LeBron James had a pretty good season last year. He shot well and remained efficient in his game. James has done well with what he has. As such, Brown’s remark only becomes relevant if the Lakers star significantly falls off. However, that is not what matters anymore. The team needs to step up to make a deep playoff run.
‘King James’ will have close friend and podcast partner JJ Redick as the new head coach. Redick will aim to improve the Lakers to ensure James has the fifth championship ring. LeBron James will have to continue or keep up with his production to ensure that the Lakers have a chance. If not, the claims of Brown will hold significant revelence.
NBA insider reveals LeBron James’ last wish before retiring from the sport
Everyone stops playing at some point. The only person who knows about LeBron James‘ retirement plans is him. That’s why nobody was shocked when his most current career timeline finally became accessible to the public.
James is anticipated to play for one or two more seasons. He ‘wishes to win another NBA ring’ before retiring. This is what NBA Insider Shams Charania said on Pat McAfee‘s show on ESPN. It means ‘King James’ will get to play additional years with his son Bronny James.
Most people I talk to in the league around LeBron James, one or two more years is the expectation. But it’s obvious. Based on his comments, he’s at the end of the road...Clearly, he still loves the game and he still wants to win another ring.Shams Charania via The Pat McAfee Show
Furthermore, the superstar player for the Lakers has recently spoken candidly about “the end” of his career on multiple occasions. After the Lakers went down in May of last year, James made hints that he would not return. But after a few days, he came back. There is a huge possibility that he will play for more than a season.
