The Three Lions is currently managed by interim boss Lee Carsley, who took over following the departure of Gareth Southgate after the heartbreak in the Euros. The former U21 manager failed to motivate his side to victory over Greece as the visitors pulled off a late 2-1 victory in the Nations League.

Following the game, Carsley revealed his plans with the National team, thereby putting an end to rumors of him taking the role permanently.

My mind was clear from the start. I’m doing three camps and there are three games left. Hopefully, I’ll be going back to the U21’s.

Lee Carsley told Sky Sports News

The 50-year-old stated that he is very comfortable in his former position and that people got a bit too excited in his first two wins with the senior team.

That being said, Lee Carsley also added that managing England is one of the biggest jobs in the world, given the fact that they stand a genuine chance of winning a major competition. England face Finland in Group 2 after a loss to Greece. The Three Lions are currently second with six points from three games.

As per Carsley, the manager will only be in charge for two more games, one against Greece and the other against Ireland.

Former PSG boss in talks to take charge as new England manager

Former Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel is an exciting prospect to take charge of the England national team. Following the frustrating loss to Greece a few days back, fans have called for the appointment of a new manager.

Amidst rumors of Thomas Tuchel taking charge as the new boss, other reports state that the FA are yet to interview a single candidate for the role.

Tuchel last took charge of Bayern Munich, following which he willingly parted ways with the club to make room for Vincent Kompany. Even though the highlight of his final season with Bayern was losing the Bundesliga title to Bayer Leverkusen, he is also a Champions League winner with Chelsea.

He had taken the reins at clubs like Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain, where he led them to several domestic titles. As England continue their search for a new manager, several fans have called for the FA to finalize Tuchel before he changes his mind.

Former England boss Gareth Southgate recently denied claims that he was considering taking the Manchester United job from Erik ten Hag.
