Leon Edwards fell short at UFC 304 and lost his UFC welterweight to challenger Belal Muhammad. ‘Remember The Name’ put on an incredible performance and dominated the fight from the start. Edwards did turn up in the last few seconds, but it was too late for the defending champion to win. 

Throughout the fight, Belal Muhammad outclassed Leon Edwards everywhere. Muhammad mixed it up with relentless pressure and ground game. In one such exchange, Muhammad managed to pick up and slam ‘Rocky’ head-first into the canvas. It looked brutal, and fans certainly took notice.

Edwards is known for his striking and was expected to dominate Muhammad on the feet. However, Muhammad managed to outstrike him with jabs and combinations. As it turns out, Muhammad’s coach wasn’t joking about him having hands like Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez.

Muhammad successfully landed nine takedowns from the 13 attempts he made throughout the five rounds. It seems like all those days he trained with Khabib Nurmagomedov ahead of the fight did really pay off. Although the Manchester crowd didn’t like their champion taking a loss, it’s hard to look past Muhammad’s dominance for five rounds.

Ahead of the fight, Leon Edwards was super confident about winning and getting a knockout against Belal Muhammad. However, the reality was massively different. After that fight, Edwards revealed that he didn’t feel like himself and couldn’t execute his game plan properly.

Despite his past record of getting criticism and hate from fight fans, Muhammad really turned the tables with this one. Fans loved Muhammad’s dominating approach and non-stop pressure. Fans made some hilarious comments about Muhammad manhandling Edwards during the fight. With the win, Muhammad also kept his promise to become the first-ever Palestinian champion in the history of UFC.
