LeSean McCoy Feels the Cowboys Won’t Be a Threat in Playoffs Despite Consecutive Wins Against Eagles and Chiefs
Former Eagles running back LeSean McCoy doesn't believe that the Cowboys can qualify for the 2025 Super Bowl and advised them to try next year.

The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Philadelphia Eagles and the Kansas City Chiefs in back-to-back games to find themselves on a 6-5-1 record. With two wins, the Cowboys went from being bottom feeders to playoff contention. Although the chances are slim, the Cowboys can still qualify for their first postseason campaign since the 2023 season.
Quarterback Dak Prescott leads the league with 3261 passing yards from 303 completions for 25 passing touchdowns and 8 interceptions from 12 games. Wide receiver George Pickens is second amongst receivers with 1142 receiving yards from 73 receptions and 8 touchdowns. CeeDee Lamb missed a few games due to injury but remains on course for another 1000-yard season. Lamb has caught 51 passes for 744 yards and 3 touchdowns in 9 games for the Dallas franchise.
The Cowboys defense has gotten better as the season has progressed. It languished near the bottom of the pile, rubbing shoulders with the Bengals and the Giants at the start of the year. After acquiring Quinnen Williams, the Cowboys defense now ranks 22nd in the league, as per Sportnaut. This may not be earth-shattering progress, but it is an improvement nonetheless.
Matt Eberflus remains on the hot seat, but the recent results mean that he won’t lose his job just yet. Despite the uptick in form, two-time Super Bowl-winning running back LeSean McCoy isn’t ready to call the Cowboys a playoff-bound team just yet.
During the latest segment of Speakeasy, McCoy claimed that the “Cowboys in the playoffs, it’s not real.”
It’s not [okay], it’s not. George Pickens is looking good. Dak Prescott’s playing well. CeeDee Lamb came back to life. The truth of the matter is. If [the season] ended today what happens?… Good luck next year… Before you talk fly… Before you get all fancy, let’s get the Cowboys in the playoffs [first]. You know what this is? It’s a great story with no ending.

Former Cowboys star predicts the Dallas franchsie to win the Super Bowl
From one former player to another, this time it’s a former Cowboy, and unlike ex-Eagle and Chiefs running back LeSean McCoy, he believes the Cowboys have what it takes to win the Super Bowl.

Free agent cornerback Stephon Gilmore didn’t hesitate to pick the Cowboys among the favorites to win the Super Bowl in San Francisco next February. Following the Cowboys win against the Chiefs on Thanksgiving Day, Gilmore tweeted,
If the Cowboys get in the playoffs they will win the superbowl mark my word.

Gilmore spent the 2023 season in Dallas. Currently he’s without club. According to Sportnaut, the cornerback position is the weakest link in the Cowboys defense. If the Cowboys want they could call the veteran who is a Super Bowl winner (with the Patriots), 2x All Pro and 5x Pro Bowler.
DaRon Bland leads DBs with 62 tackles, 1 sack, 4 tackles for loss, 1 fumble return and 2 pass deflections. However, Bland left the Chiefs game with an injury and head coach Brian Schottenheimer gave Sports Illustrated a positive update for the Lions game next week, but nothing is set in stone.
