Two-time Super Bowl champion LeSean McCoy joins the ranks of several NFL stars who have called for Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa‘s retirement. The star suffered a nasty concussion yesterday after a tackle went wrong amid the Dolphins-Buffalo Bills Thursday night game.
The 26-year-old Hawaiian suffered the third concussion of his five-year career in the NFL. He previously suffered concussions including one in 2022 and a couple during his time in Alabama. Currently, the player has been placed in injury protocol. He can only play after he completes and passes the series of tests and assessments.
In light of this, LeSean McCoy shared some insights into what he thinks of this situation. He believes that a footballer plays football for the love of the game since childhood. McCoy pointed out that sometimes players get too shortsighted to acknowledge that there’s a life after football too.
This is not a ACL, this is not an achilles, this is not a shoulder or a thumb, this is your brain. You tore ACL, you can stick that thing back up to be a little strong. Achilles, you can see Rodgers is getting stronger and stronger and he can play.. you could only one brain, you get only one head.LeSean McCoy on The Facility

McCoy urges Tua Tagovailoa to be with family
LeSean McCoy joined a long list of ex-NFL players who have advised the quarterback to take a step back. He urged the quarterback to focus on his family and said that there’s life after football. He also said that football is just a sport and the league is business.
The family everything and living with your children, taking them to school..all the things that matter.LeSean McCoy said in the panel discussion
The quarterback married Annah Concetta Gore in a highly secluded courthouse marriage sometime in 2022. They have two kids together—a son Ace, and a daughter Maisey. They recently celebrated their son’s birthday with friend Quinton Bell. He also has good friends and a support system in addition to his family.
Manti Te’o, a close friend of Tagovailoa and protagonist of “Untold”, made a statement choking up, describing the feelings he experienced seeing his friend going down. Te’o also urged and hoped that his friend would make the right decision. He mentioned that he had made the same plea to him two years ago.
