Liam Livingstone is one of the destructive batters and finishers in T20I cricket. The English all-rounder can also chip with leg-spin and as well as off-spin bowling. He was definitely going to be a hot commodity in the IPL 2025 mega auction held on November 24 and 25 in Saudi Arabia.
Livingstone was released by Punjab Kings (PBKS) ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. He played for the franchise for three seasons and was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for 8.75 crore INR in the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Livingstone feels that the wicket at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru will suit his batting style given it is one of the best batting tracks in the world. The small dimensions of the ground will also allow him to hit more sixes.
The fan base is very passionate. It’s probably one of the biggest franchises in IPL… It’s a bit of a fresh start for me. I think Bangalore is going to be very good for my game. It’s a little bit smaller than some of the stadiums in India, certainly better than what Punjab was for me. Hopefully, my game should suit that place well.

RCB were very keen to add more depth and quality to their lower middle order, given that they suffered with some hard-hitting quality lower down the order. They were over-reliant on the top order and the likes of Virat Kohli to bail them out from tight situations. Now, they will definitely have one of the most dangerous batters in T20 cricket.
Liam Livingstone feels that RCB performed really well in the IPL 2025 mega auction
Livingstone feels that RCB have bought some good players and managed the auction very cleverly. He also knows a few players from the team and is excited to join them in the upcoming edition of the IPL. Livingstone voiced that he is excited to play with the great Kohli.

I think we had a really good auction. We’ve got some good players, we picked up quite cleverly. There are a few people in that team I know really well, so I’m pretty excited to get out there as a group. Playing with the likes of Virat is going to be really cool.

RCB might also be led again by Kohli, who stepped down ahead of IPL 2022. Given that he has retired from T20Is after the T20 World Cup 2024 win, he will be able to take much more workload and will also look to lead RCB to their first-ever IPL title.
Livingstone has played 39 innings in the IPL and scored 939 runs at an average of 28.45, with a strike-rate of 162.46. He has six half-centuries to his name and also picked up 11 wickets.
