Ligue 1 club AS Monaco willing to sign Brazilian left-back Marcelo from Real Madrid

The Brazilian full-back hasn’t played much for Real Madrid this season and could try for a move outside the club to get some minutes of game time. Much like Luka Jovic and Eder Militao and Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez before them, Zinedine Zidane is notorious for not giving his players enough time to play. He isn’t known for his man-management skills and is most likely going to be losing out on players because of that.
The appearances have been decreasing for Marcelo as the years pass by
The Brazilian is 32 years of age and his appearances have been steadily declining due to sub-par performances. While he will always be regarded as one of the greatest left-backs of football, his recent performances haven’t done justice to his status as a world-class player. As a result Real Madrid went on to sign Ferland Mendy, who has held on to the left-back position and made it his own. Real Madrid have sorted out the left-back role now as he has proven to be consistent at his role and can only get better.
Marcelo has only made 6 appearances this season in the La Liga and only 1 appearance in the Champions League. He hasn’t made much impact apart from getting one assist in the La Liga. Ligue 1 club AS Monaco has been reported to have an interest in the full-back and is ready to give him a three year contract worth €18 million. His current contract expires in June 2022 and Monaco will have to pay a fee to Real Madrid to get the full-back to come over to France.
