Ligue 1: Reims vs PSG Player Ratings as PSG remain atop
Reims were on route to go head to head against Ligue 1 table toppers PSG. It has been an exceptional start to the tournament for PSG as they’ve gotten three on three wins this season while Reims have found three draws. It will be an exhilarating encounter as PSG hope to keep the winning streak going to keep the top spot.
As the match kicked off, PSG were on the run. They were aggressive and attacking right from the word go. They’d been looking to create chances and one absolutely outstanding assist came off Angel Di Maria. His flighted assist was converted into a goalscoring header in the 16th minute by Kylian Mbappe. His great finish on the left of the keeper gave PSG the lead early on.
Reims
Predrag Rajković (GK) (5.9/10) : Predrag didn’t have the best time at goal saving in today’s game. He conceded both the goals by the likes of Mbappe and the first one was one that he could’ve attempted for but missed with reaction timing.
Andrew Gravillon (6.4/10) : Andrew did make some good clearences to help his side get the ball back to the opposing half but it wasn’t enough to contain the PSG forwards.
Wout Faes (6.5/10) : The defender had a below average day at work. He did find it difficult to keep the ball in possession so he barely made any passes forward. He did block two shots and made two good clearances.
Yunis Abdelhamid (7.5/10) : The captain led from front and was undoubtedly the best player for his side on the field. He won as many as five interceptions and won several tackles. He also made valuable clearances and blocks and himself was on target twice while taking a go at PSG’s goal.
Dion Lopy (6.7/10) : Lopy did good with winning certain tackle battles but didn’t have the best time in challenging the PSG midfield. He also had one of his shots blocked while he went for a run towards goal.
Thomas Foket (7/10) : Thomas would be adjudged among the better players in today’s game. He made a valuable key pass which helped creating a big chance at goal. He also made valuable contribution in the defence.
Nathanaël Mbuku (6.4/10) : After a struggling first-half, Mbuku was called in. He found it difficult to keep the ball in contention and in possession while he even failed at making clear passes.
Moreto Cassamá (7/10) : Moreto too found his way out after an eventful first half. He did land in a position where he had a shy at goal but he was off target. An unlucky day at attempts for Reims.
Marshall Munetsi (7/10) : A very unlucky game for Munetsi as VAR earlier disallowed his goal for his team. That could’ve helped them come a long way. However, Marshall did a stupendous job at making the right clearances and winning interceptions and tackles.
Ilan Kebbal (7.1/10) : The striker hadn’t got a lot of support to go ahead with and aim for a goal. However, he did give his all in, in order to get hold of a goal. He made several good tackles and won certainly good interceptions while in attempt at goal, he had his shots blocked.
El Bilal Touré (6.2/10) : Couldn’t have gotten any more unlucky for El Bilal. He had a big opportunity in his had to convert the ball into the goal but he missed it. He had good chances at goal but it just wasn’t his day.
Substitutes
Bradley Locko (6.3/10) : Bradley failed one too many after he walked in on the pitch. He didn’t the ball too many times as he lost possession on multiple occasions.
Valon Berisha (7/10) : Valon came to play the remaining of the half where he did a good job at keeping the ball moving. However, not that impactful.
Alex Flips (6.5/10) : Alex did have good few minutes on the pitch but didn’t do anything impactful. He did make a few good tackles but barely made nine touches.
Mitchell van Bergen (6.9/10) : In his 19 minute stinit, Bergen created a good opportunity and did get in on target but couldn’t convert it into a stellar goal.
Hugo Ekitike (6.1/10) : Hugo barely got nine minutes of play under his belt off which he lost possession as many as four times. Tough luck for the substitute.
PSG
Neymar (6.6/10) : Neymar had a decent game throughout. He didn’t have any attempts at goal as he was struggling his way through winning the dribbling battles and ground duels. He was later subbed in place of the debutante Lionel Messi.
Kylian Mbappe (8.5/10) : Mbappe has done a commendable job for PSG over the years and he’s yet again done it yet again for them. He scored a beautiful header off Di Maria’s assist on the left of the keeper to give PSG the lead. He then followed that with another goal in the back of the net courtesy of Hakimi’s assist.
Angel Di Maria (7.5/10) : The forward has been doing an exceptional job in the wing. He did have one of shots blocked but didn’t fail in the early few minutes as he provided a beautiful ariel assist to Mbappe. He converted it into a magnificent goalscoring header to make it 1-0 in favour of PSG.
Marco Verratti (7.3/10) : Verratti did a fantastic job on field today. He did block several shots from Reims to help keep the ball away from their goal. He also had an incredible passing accuracy and did a commendable job to keep the ball moving and in possession in the midfield.
Idrissa Gueye (7.3/10) : A proactive midfielder in today’s game for PSG as he did a stupendous job at keeping the ball moving alongside others. He showed the true meaning of teamwork. He won several ground duels and interceptions while having two of his shots blocked in the box.
Georginio Wijnaldum (6.8/10) : It was a decent game for Wijnaldum. He did a good job at winning ariel duels. He looked good with pace and was agile on field. He did make a run to attempt for goal, twice. However, his ball was cleared away on both occasions by the defenders.
Abdou Diallo (6.6/10) : Diallo had a below par performance in today’s encounter. He had a good chance at goal and despite being on target, he failed to convert. He also had a lot of trouble in winning ground duels against the players.
Thilo Kehrer (7/10) : A decent game fo Thilo Kehrer. He hardly failed to miss any pace and made the most accurate passes for PSG in today’s encounter.
Marquinhos (7.5/10) : Marquinhos proved to be the best person to look up to for his team. The captain lead from the front with making five clearances and winning interceptions. He also had a shy at goal but was off target.
Achraf Hakimi (8.2/10) : Hakimi provided Mbappe with a beautiful assist to make it 2-0 for PSG and a brace for Kylian. It was a great day for him as Hakimi was excellent with his footwork and pace. He made some really good interceptions and won tackles with ease.
Keylor Navas (GK) (7.9/10) : Navas couldn’t have asked for a better match to have felt challenged. He made four really good saves from inside the box that gave him the cleansheet he deserved for his work.
Substitutes
Lionel Messi (6.7/10) : Messi is making his debut for PSG and he replaced his friend Neymar to do so. Messi did spend some good time to get warmed up and he did a great job at winning duels in this encounter.
Ander Herrera (6.3/10) : In his short stint for PSG in today’s encounter, Herrera failed miserably at winning the challenges put on the table by Reims.
Leandro Paredes (6.4/10) : Paredes followed up the likes of Verratti, who already has had a great time in today’s game. Paredes did manage to win a couple of balls and interceptions but didn’t have much time to do something by himself to make a huge impact.
Presnel Kimpembe (6.6/10) : In this outing, Kimpembe barely managed to get 15 minutes to play. Kimpembe tried to keep the ball moving and made a good tackle and clearance to keep the scoresheet intact at 2-0.
Julian Draxler (6.5/10) : Julian found himself with just nine minutes of play on the clock. He did a fine job by making valuable passes but failed at challenges.
