Lil Wayne dropped his new song and gave a shout-out to Joe Burrow. Not once, but twice.
On Sunday, Wayne published a song called ‘Came Out a Beast’ on various platforms and listeners were quick to single out the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback being mentioned in the lyrics.
Cause I f**k a deal, the dreadlocks all blind like I'm Australian. Reppin' at LSU like I'm Joe Byrne [Burrow] Sorry, not sorry, I'm tired of the sorrow.the lyrics read
It is curious to know why Wayne dropped Burrow’s name because Wayne is a bonafide Green Bay Packers supporter. Fans would not be puzzled if he mentioned some of the great Packers quarterbacks like Aaron Rodgers, Bart Starr, Brett Favre, or even up-and-coming Jordan Love.
Why did Lil Wayne add Joe Burrow’s name to his song?
Instead of picking anyone from Wisconsin, Wayne opted for Burrow, who is an LSU Tigers graduate because he hails from Louisiana. He is also a massive advocate of women’s basketball. So as a tribute, he collaborated with the Tigers Flau’jae Johnson.
The song has two verses and Johnson sang the first one. Similar to Wayne, she, too had a nod to Joe Burrow.
I go to LSU and I be reppin' it like I'm Joe Byrne [Burrow]. When I slide in the Mazi, I gotta keep checkin.the lyrics read

Burrow became the Heisman winner after leading LSU to college championship glory. He has gone on to win an AFC Championship and appear at the Super Bowl after the Bengals selected him first overall.
Johnson also mentioned former LSU and current Chicago Sky player Angel Reese in the song as well.
I can get you a piece Keep a double, I feel like a Reese. Ain't no trouble, I'm keepin' the peace. It ain't mad, 'cause I came out the East.the lyrics read
For Lil Wayne to out of nowhere drop Joe Burrow’s name surprised many. Perhaps none more than the Bengals fans themselves. However, they would be praying to see the old Burrow back in 2024 after he suffered a season-ending injury on his throwing arm.
In June, the 27-year-old discussed his mental health following the series of unfortunate injuries.
Whenever the injuries start to stack up your football mortality kind of comes into the back of your mind. So, that’s definitely something I’ve thought about and something I have had to fight through.Joe Burrow said
The Bengals will play three pre-season games against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the Chicago Bears, and the Indianapolis Colts. On September 8, Burrow and Co. will kick off their 2024 campaign by welcoming the New England Patriots to the jungle.
