Lionel Messi is by far, one of the best footballers in the history of the sport. From FC Barcelona to Paris Saint-Germain and now Inter Miami, the player’s legacy is nothing short of unbelievable. Following a serious injury picked up in the final of the Copa America in mid July, the player has been sidelined ever since, with a case on his leg to facilitate recovery.
The 37-year-old was spotted at Chase Stadium as his side took on Puebla in the Leagues Cup on Sunday. Messi who was sat beside his wife Antonela Roccuzzo was focussed not on game, but rather on the contents of his phone. Even though Antonela remained fixated on the game, cameras captured a hilarious moment when she stole a fleeting glance at the No.10’s mobile screen.
In a movement so swift to even comprehend, the Argentine’s partner was caught looking at his screen for a fraction of a second before resuming her observance of the game.
Even though fans opted to see the funny side of the incident, hundreds of followers have reacted to the hilarious incident. As for the game, Miami tasted victory by two goals to none.

Not even Lionel Messi is free from the watchful eyes of his partner. Ever since the hilarious clip featuring the couple went viral, reactions have been pouring in from all sides. A fan commented that Messi still gets marked even if it’s off the pitch and while injured. Another laughed at how Antonela could have never expected the camera to pick up her glance.
Another joked about how Antonela was the only ‘defender’ capable of tackling her husband after so many have tried and failed in the past. The two have been together since childhood and got married back in 2017. The couple are parents to three beautiful boys – Thiago, Mateo and Ciro. Rival fans joked that Messi was searching for what rival Cristiano Ronaldo was up to after the Euros.
As for the Argentine’s club, Miami currently lead the League standings in the MLS, with 53 points in 25 games. They also lead their group in the Leagues Cup and with just nine games left to go, may very well end up tasting victory without their star man. Initial assessment of the player’s ankle suggested that he will be out for a period of almost 40 days.
