Lionel Messi‘s bodyguard has made a reputation for himself. The former US soldier and Navy SEAL has gone viral on social media on multiple occasions for his extreme dedication to the job. Yassine Chueko has quite literally been following the Argentine superstar around, everywhere he goes.
From dressing rooms to training grounds and press conferences, Chueko is on high alert to not let any of Messi’s fans get too close to the superstar. Chueko’s most recent viral moment came on Saturday night when Inter Miami beat Sporting KC. Several fans tried to get close to the Argentine at Arrowhead Stadium, though one particular fan succeeded momentarily.
In a viral video captured from the stands, Chueko quickly notices a pitch invader who attempted to take a selfie with Messi. He then proceeded to sprint the entire length of the pitch and tackled the invader.
Fans were dumbfounded at how quickly he reacted and covered ground on the pitch. Many still couldn’t comprehend how someone could be so invested in taking down pitch invaders!
Surprising stats reveal Tata Martino’s struggles at Inter Miami
Even though many believed that Lionel Messi‘s signing meant instant success for Miami, that has not been the case as of late. The Argentine superstar, despite his most valiant efforts, has seen Miami fall at the hands of their opponents on several occasions. Even though Messi led the club to its first-ever trophy, current manager Gerardo Martino hasn’t been able to guide the team to the promised land.
Former U.S. International Taylor Twellman has shown that Martino’s success rate as a manager is worse than that of his predecessor – Phil Neville. The latter, who had a win rate of 38.89, is more than that of Martino’s, which is even lesser. After being in charge of Miami for 34 games, his success rate is 38.24! Before Saturday’s game, Miami’s last win came six matches ago, against DC United.
With a significant portion of the MLS season left to play, it is unlikely that Martino will be removed from his position. However, it is understood that Martino has had to work with a Messi-less squad for the larger part of last season due to injury. The Argentine also missed games this season as well. As of now, Miami have 15 points in 9 games and are top of the Eastern Conference.
