Lionel Messi returned to group training with his current club, Inter Miami after six staggering weeks from his drastic ankle injury in the Copa America final. Even though it is still unclear that when will Messi finally make his way to the playing yards, the sight of him returning to practice instilled hope in the Inter Miami fans.

Inter Miami are currently cruising in Major League Soccer this season and will be playing against Chicago on this coming Saturday. If the Argentine sensation, Messi, doesn’t return to the playing squad, then he will have to wait until September 14th where the current table-toppers will collide with Philadelphia.

PhiladelphiaI know he’s been getting treatment every single day, training every single day. He’s dealt with things before. He’s been there, done that and he’s still doing it at the highest level. To see him recoup from the kind of injury we saw at Copa America and be available for us this season, it goes to show the quality of care we have here.

If Inter Miami chooses to go without Messi against Chicago, then he will have two more weeks of rehab for himself. Argentina left Lionel Messi out due to his injury from the World Cup qualifiers which are slated to be played in early September.

Messi has got 12 goals and 13 assists from 12 MLS games in the ongoing season.

How has Inter Miami’s season looked so far?

Inter Miami is on a dream run currently as they sit comfortably atop the Eastern Conference with 56 points from 26 games. They have registered 17 wins and five draws. They are the only team who have clinched the play-off berth already and are sitting eight points clear from their closest pursuer in the conference, Cincinnati, who have a tally of 48 points from 15 wins and three draws.

LA Galaxy sits atop the Western Conference with 52 points, four adrift of Inter Miami. They have garnered 15 wins and seven draws which has seen them give a tough run to Inter Miami for their money. However, Miami’s star-studded squad continued to deliver day in day out, which has been the key element of their unparalleled dominion.
