The Kansas City Chiefs are on the verge of achieving something never seen before in the NFL. And there seems to be some good news for the elite quarterback Patrick Mahomes, as Lionel Messi is likely to witness him potentially making history and claim the title of NFL GOAT– a status that many have suggested he would be achieving.
USA Today reported on Tuesday via a source close to Inter Miami star that he is keen on attending the Super Bowl LIX to watch the highly anticipated matchup between the Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles. However, his schedule may not align with the timing of the big game.
The Argentine World Champion is slated to participate in the Inter Miami preseason in Honduras on Saturday. Usually, the team returns home right after the road games, but if Messi could adjust, the journey from Honduras to South Florida would take approximately two hours, which is similar to the travel distance from South Florida to New Orleans.

Although there’s a genuine possibility that the 37-year-old soccer superstar may not be able to make it to the Super Bowl, the three-time Super Bowl champion is happy merely to the fact that he might attend. Ahead of the Super Bowl game scheduled for Saturday, Mahomes shared the high respect he holds for Messi, calling him a GOAT of soccer and looking forward to having him in attendance on February 9.

Although their meeting was brief, the two developed a good connection, which is why Messi is eager to attend Mahomes’ most significant game that will engrave his name in the pages of history forever.
The reigning MLS MVP has never been fortunate enough to attend the Super Bowl game since arriving in the United States in 2024. Interestingly, in both years, the Chiefs have advanced to the big game, and now, with a three-peat on the line, Messi is hoping to return to the States just in time for the Super Bowl.
