Argentinian superstar Lionel Messi’s wife Antonela Roccuzzo hilariously issued a warning to her husband, while bragging about his recent feat on social media. The Inter Miami star became the most decorated player in football history.
Lionel Messi recorded a new achievement, as he became the player to win the most titles in history. As a result of his achievement, he was recently handed the inaugural MARCA America Award. Messi has etched a football legacy by winning 46 titles while playing for three clubs, Barcelona, PSG and Inter Miami, and La Albiceleste. With Barca, he has won 35 trophies, including 10 La Liga, 4 UCL and 3 Club World Cup titles. However, nothing outshines his 2022 FIFA World Cup win with the Argentinian national team.
After being crowned with the accolade for his incredible feat, Messi’s wife Antonela Roccuzzo took to social media to share a celebratory post, congratulating her husband. She posted an image of him with the trophy on Instagram, accompanied by a sarcastic caption. She jokingly mentioned that Messi had fallen in personal trouble, noting the fact that it would find no space in his already filled massive trophy cabinet. Moreover, some fans labeled the 37-year-old as the ‘Greatest Footballer of All Time’.
Meanwhile, Messi, most recently, led Inter Miami to the 2024 MLS Supporters’ Shield. The veteran forward, despite missing out on most of the matches due to injury, scored 17 goals and provided 15 assists all season.
Lionel Messi speaks about his participation in the upcoming 2026 World Cup, amid retirement rumors
Argentinian skipper Lionel Messi opened up about the possibility of participating in the upcoming 2026 World Cup. The statements come after he had previously hinted at retirement, following a brilliant hat-trick against Bolivia in a World Cup qualifier match.
The 37-year-old forward has left the door open for playing the upcoming World Cup. However, he stated that he was prioritizing his health and emotional well-being over fixating on reaching the 2026 event. Acknowledging that he is in the dawn of his illustrious career, he stated that he would not accelerate his career and would hope to keep playing at the same level for the years to come.
It remains to be seen what comes ahead for the veteran football star, who has enjoyed an incredible career. He has already won three major trophies with the Argentinian national team, which include a FIFA World Cup, in 2022.
