Luis Suarez gives insight into the extent of Lionel Messi’s injury
Argentina’s beloved No.10 added a second Copa America title to his trophy cabinet with a 1-0 win against Colombia on the 14th of July. Despite the success, the player was reduced to tears as he picked up a ligament injury in the second half and came off in the 66th minute. Even though initial assessment pointed to a 40-day recovery period, it is now unclear when the player is expected to make a return.
Lionel Messi has now missed three games since the final, with the most recent game being a 2-0 win over Puebla in the Leagues Cup. Following the win, teammate Luis Suarez shared his insight into the Argentine’s injury.

Aged 37, Suarez has been constantly plagued by knee problems, which the player also suffered during game against Puebla. Head coach Tata Martino claimed that his substitution was the result of an inflamed knee and that Suarez is constantly working on his knee.
