Amon-Ra St. Brown bleeds blue and wants to bring home the Super Bowl to Detroit to finish off what the Lions began last season. Brown sent a warning to every team remaining in the playoffs by reverting back to his iconic hairstyle.

On Thursday, the 25-year-old dropped by the Little Caesars Arena to cheer for the local NBA side the Detroit Pistons who took on Steph Curry’s Golden State Warriors. Running back Jahmyr Gibbs, defensive back Kerby Joseph, and general manager Brad Holmes tagged along with him on the night.

Following a massive welcome by the Pistons’ fans, reporters flocked to St. Brown and Gibbs’ side for an exclusive interview.

Life is good. Gotta bye week. Had practice today, gotta a few days off so, nice to let the body heal out and it’s been a long season but after the bye week we will get back to it… next week.

The reporter asked the former USC ace about his blue hair.

I did, I had to do it.

Amon-Ra St. Brown replied

Last year, the Lions played three games in the playoffs, including the NFC title game. St. Brown played in all of them and recorded 22 receptions for 274 yards and one touchdown. The blue hair is a symbol and a warning to other NFL teams that the Lions mean business.

Detroit hasn’t seen success in football for a long time. They peaked in the early 1990s by winning the NFC Central (now NFL North) but went 30 years without winning anything despite fielding players such as Matthew Stafford and HOF Calvin Johnson.

Dan Campbell turned the Lions’ fortune around. It took a while to get going and now they lifted back-to-back NFC North titles in the franchise’s history. Brown, Gibbs, and quarterback Jared Goff became household names, ushering in a new era that locals mostly enjoyed while supporting Michigan in college football.

However, St. Brown’s popularity is not limited to Detroit or its adjacent areas. A bakery in Rochester, New York, created a life-size cake of the Lions receiver’s famous upside-down celebration.

Heather Tocco and her team of 30 created the brilliant and detailed cake, catching ample attention on the internet. St. Brown also caught a whiff of the marvel and he praised their effort on his podcast.

When I first saw (a photo of the cake), I was like, ‘No way. The attention to detail is ridiculous… I definitely got to check it out.

Amon-Ra St. Brown said

St. Brown promised to gift two tickets to their home divisional round game next week and even visit the bakery sometime.

I’m gonna take care of you with the seats; I got you. Shout out to Home Bakery, man. The cake is lit; it’s nuts.

St. Brown and everyone associated with the Lions franchise deserve all the plaudits they are getting. But they still need to keep their head in the game and play lights out to reach the Super Bowl for the first time in franchise history.
